    Hi picasso1011,

There are a few things you can do to rank your video in Google and on Youtube.

First there in onsite traffic and then there is offsite traffic

    onsite:

    1. Chose keywords that people are searching for on Google adwords keyword tool. 10,000 searches a month is good.
    2. Make sure the keyword is in the title of the video and have a benefit. Make the title up that people want to click on the learn more.
    3. Make sure the first thing you put in your description box is your capture page url. Start the url with http:// to make it a clickable link.
    4. If you have a blog include that as well for more traffic.
    5. Add 4-10 keyword tags
    6. Include the main keyword in the first 30 seconds of your video. The search engines use this to rank videos higher.

    6. Use a strong call to action at the end for more clicks.

    Offsite:

Try to get as many backlinks to your video as possible.

1.Blog about the video. Include a link to the video in the post.
    2. Start a free blogger blog about your topic and include a link to your video in the posts and pages.
    3. Use Onlywire.com to send out links from over 50 sites at once.
    4. Sign up to tribepro and join tribes related to your niche. Share the video with everyone.
    5. Go to sites like Tubemogul or TrafficGueser.com to distribute your video to multiple sites at once. These are paid services though. If you want to rank #1 it may be worth the investment to get th3e traffic. Traffic=sales=more money to pay for more advertising.

    Hope that helps,

    Steve

Thank you steve...I kind of know all the techniques you mentioned.
      but my question is,
should I research the keyword using google kw to rank my video on youtube?
or should I go for kw that have not too many videos competing again each other.
like i said I have a video sitting on the 5th spot on youtube,
this kw.xobox niche has around 110.000 other videos trying to rank for the same kw on youtube.
should I worry about ranking using google keyword tool and forget how many videos am competing again?

At the end of your video put an arrow that points down to your website you are promoting and write something like "You are only one step away from ...... Click this link below and get....."

It won't really help you being on page 1 in your niche, it's not like website/blog.

Basically people want to click on videos that already have lots of views which are all junk or/and "fake"

You need to put a fake thumbnail that's provocative/controversial or other blackhat ways or get "lucky" with a video that goes viral.

Most "good" videos have average or low view counts.

        Good Luck.

I find this to be very informative. Can you explain number 6 a bit more. Using the keyword in the first 30 seconds. You mean to speak the keyword in the video, right? Does this really make a difference. Is that automated and a computer picks up on it or are we talking human reviewers? Very curious. thanks!

Nice insight here about video marketing, for getting You tube traffic you need to put your major keyword in the title of the video. Make sure to perform all the on page activities. Videos ought to be effective and compelling enough which demonstrate properly your business offering.

You also need to make sure that you grab your user's attention within the first 15 seconds of your video. it's really crucial.

What do you mean by including main keyword in the first 30 seconds of the video?
Can google actually "read" stuff that's written within a video? That would be insane!

No Allen, Google and YouTube are automatically transcribing what you say in the video. It is not very accurate though, but if you go in the "subtitle" file, you can check it out and even fix it so your keyword is in there.

Yes, using the Google keyword tool will give you a rough estimation on how many searches your keyword gets on a monthly basis. Use [Exact] match for the most accurate results.

You can in fact rank a video in Google and YouTube.

This will all depend on how well your video is optimized and you will likely need to direct some back links to your video. Using social bookmarks is a great way to get started and see a nice gain in the SERPS!

Let me know if you have any other questions.

You may be ranking really well for a keyword on youtube..but it gets no traffic. Do they other videos that rank for that keyword have traffic? If not, you arent ranking for the right keyword.

another thing you could do is to search for very high traffic videos on youtube
and post a comment there. if people click on your profile they will also see
    your videos
