Spending $22 and getting $5, but a success.

Earnings: $5

Future Expenses: $22
Future Earnings: $50 + constant growth and earnings from current fans.

I started this campaign on Monday.

My total expenses so far have been $22. At the time of this post I have 267 fans. That means that I'm paying a little less than $0.10 per fan. Now my goal is to get that down to $0.01, which is definitely possible.

$5 in 4 days is a success

Since Monday (4 days ago) the page has already made me a little over $5 from a simple CPA campaign promoting Petsmart.

Here's the reason this is a success.

I now have 267 people that will see my status updates and see my page on a regular basis. When I post something on the wall, they will see it on their news feed. Since I've already made $5, I can do that again and again with the same fans. And as the fans share, like, and comment on things, their friends will see my page as well.

Now, imagine I get my campaign to paying $0.01 per fan.
When I reach that goal, the same $22, will have brought in 2,200 fans. Imagine the possibilities.

    It's funny how I just got off reading the article at performinsider.com about facebook fans being useless, I would post a link to the actual article but the forum doesnt allow me and now I encountered this thread. Looks like something is actually working for you and i wish you good luck, make sure you keep us updated on your progress

      Are you kidding? Ha, they have no clue what they are talking about.

      Think of it this way.

      Facebook fans = real people.

      If you have 300 fans, that's access to 300 REAL people.

      If you have access to 100,000 fans, that's access to 100,000 REAL people. But now imagine when those fans press like, share, comment, etc. on your wall.

      If they do that, their friends will see your page as well.

      You can track every major interest of your fans and make sure that they are in the general niche that you're trying to target and can ultimately use that to your advantage.

      You can track age, country, language, everything really.

      As marketers, we can use all of this to our benefit and ultimately make a huge impact on any industry.

      My example is with a small fanbase. Adding all of my pages together I have more than 125,000 fans. Imagine the possibilities you have with access to 125,000 DIFFERENT people.

      Just wanted to clarify that the person/magazine/blog you read was out of the loop and just didn't know what they were doing.

      People are people, no matter where they come from. But when they are targeted.. wow they are so much stronger.

      I absolutely agree.

      That's why I use Facebook, Youtube, Autoresponders, niche sites, ustreams, meetups, twitter, and every other possible method for building a subscription base.

        This is not accurate. Most Fanpages owners reach about 10% of their fans by their status updates. Not everyone "likes" a page actually "sees" whatever it posts. Not even 15 % of them.

    Yup scaling up is the name of the game. It's a great thing to plan out the future but, be careful and don't count your chickens before they hatch. Always have more than one plan ready and able to go in case the variables change.

    @Fary, I didn't express that you can reach out to all 300 fans at the same time. I was expressing that you have access to 300 fans in general. Whether that means that some are seeing your post in the morning, some at night, some next week, or some only once a month.

    The point is that you have access to them in some sense. And the reach can expand so much further when people like/share/comment.

    So when we say access to 300 people, honestly it's a lot more.

    I have a page with almost 52,000 fans and the reach is nearly 14,000,000 each month. That's a big different

    @mtmjohn, Conversions

    Test out different interests, genders, states/cities, ages, and of course different ads all together. The more you test, the more you'll see who your REAL target market is and you'll be able to expand upon that greatly.

      This is a major success. Congs. honestly, I did never reach all my fans using a single fanpage. As you said, some fans only see a single post every month. Others did never see any activity from the moment they liked the page,
      Sometimes they have to unlike then re-like the page to be able to see only 1% of its activity.
      This happened to me and to a lot of page owners as well.

    Oh yea definitely. I wasn't going to bash anyone on this one.

    It's just that it's an inaccurate study.

    They are doing studies on large brands also, so that to me isn't something that would relate to what I do with fan pages.

    I have never responded to anything a large brand has posted on my Facebook, but when it comes to pages that I relate directly to, I have more connection and in turn become more engaged.

    I wouldn't respond to anything that Google posts, because I doubt my voice would be heard over the clutter.

    But if someone was a follow of Google's statistics and had great information to share, I would be more likely to share/like/comment, etc.

    The study just isn't relative to the entirety of Facebook and is subjected primarily to large companies. But even so, it's about how you approach it and most people approach it incorrectly.

    P.S. I just realized that you just posted a link to one of your own articles on your site. Don't know if that's considered spam, but just thought I'd toss it out there.

    Justin you really did it dude I have also tried it and got 185 fans by spending $50 but got enough conversions and these are enough, Actually it was also my first experience so I was also not looking for big profit but hopefully I'll crack it soon and you are doing much better

      Sometimes you'll notice that brand new fans are the most profitable. But that doesn't mean your current fans aren't profitable.

      In my experience it's just easier to convert new fans right when they join the page. Probably because they want to check out what's going on and everythings new to them, so they feel like clicking more.

        yeah you just have to engage them to revisit your fan page like posting interesting pictures and news related to your page

    Nice results i been doing facebookarketing for a long time I always get 0.4 per click.and under. I know how to get low paying clicks. That's why I choose facebook and is my main income.

    I can't say Facebook is my main source of income because I focus primarily on niche marketing with websites. But I can say that Facebook directs a large increment of traffic to my websites, which in turn can make it very profitable.

    I prefer to use all types of different avenues

    Great work man! That's a big key to CPA success. If you can profit in the smallest of margins, you can scale that and profit some decent size to huge margins. It's all about finding what works then scaling it! Keep it up!

      Your link was stripped away because you used aff link or url shortner which facebook do not like. Just buy simple domain, and redirect from this domain to offer.

      P.S. 150 fans is not enough to make money. You need to promote your page more! Don't forget to set-up welcome tab.

        Ye I was also thinking that. At the moment I have a custom ifram on my page, and its the landing tab when user visits my page, what do you mean by a welcome tab? you mean i should make one and it should be the landing tab?

      Exactly.

      Many people will spend weeks/months trying to test out conversions but to see conversions within hours is definitely something to be proud of.

      I'll turn the fans I got $22 from into a big profit over the length of time.
