There was a thread here I think or maybe on a blog with step by step on how to use google's ad planner. Can someone please help me find it?

Google Adplanner is simple to use. You can learn it just by playing around with it. Do you have any specific questions?

You can try searching youtube/google for videos on how to use adplanner (try to find most recent one because changes have been made in the past year).

As for step by step on WF not sure what thread you are talking about, but try looking here:

Yeah I tried messing around with and one time it said no results returned match my search criteria (which wasn't even a specific search). The other turned up sites like facebook, yahoo, live.com, etc.. :-/

Try using the function "ordered by" on the top and select "Composition Index"
Find smaller sites where your audience concentrates most heavily. PLay around with those settings you should get a better selection of sites.
