How many impressions before ending an Adwords campaign?

5 replies
Hi folks,

Now I see why people pay thousands of dollars a month to have their AdWords managed...this stuff is a pain the arse! :p

Ok, now to my point.

I figured out how to get more impressions, but either

a. My ads really suck
b. I'm choosing poorly with keywords (have went broad)
c. Ok, maybe it's both.

I'm running 4 ads, have had over 1,000 impressions, and a measly 2 clicks.

God, it's embarrassing to even say that out loud!

My gut tells me to shut these ads down before I have to spend a fortune to try to get on the first page.

Is over 250 impressions enough to see if each ad is working or not? If not, can I do more without getting spanked too hard?

    Hi cvdover ,

    I understand what you're going through but trust me keyword research comes after

    market research because you want to know that there is cash being pumped into the

    market you're in.

    once you've made the research, then comes the sites you target wich means ;

    are they highly visited?

    what is their PR? they HAVE to be an authority!

    Have you analysed those sites on alexa? ...etc

    then I guarantee your campaigns will perform.

    best of luck;

      Hello Anauel63,

      First, I guess I should say I'm NOT an internet marketer. I'm advertising my professional services. (copywriting...which is why I was ashamed to admit my CTR.)

      You've lost me on sites I"m targeting. What does that mean? Do you mean people I want as clients, or something else?

      Thanks,

      Chris

    I guess AdWords is more into those big companies, if individual business you can try more into social promotion or using facebook ads. :rolleyes: But AdWords is still one of the best sources to get targeted traffics. How much that 1000 impressions and 2 clicks cost you??

    Hey, that's the great part...those two clicks cost me less than $5.

    However, I'm mostly concerned with pulling the ads too soon....it seems like that's enough impressions to test my ads, but I may be wrong, which is why I came here for expert advice

    Right now I'm searching for new keywords (and scrapping my ads).

    Yeah, I don't want to mess with Facebook or anything else. Google seems to be the most targeted. I want to learn this one and be through learning for a while
