I have operated the screening department for one of the top 3 CPA networks, ask me a question.

Hey WF'rs,

I have led the screening department for a CPA network in the top 3, and thought I would help answer any questions about process or what have you. I'd rather not mention which network for privacy sake but would like to be able to help members on here get some clarification, if needed, as I will be more active in the forum going forward.

So, ask me a question about applying to networks (or other) and I will do my best to answer your questions.

Not really, no. If you came to me with a demographic that were out to lunch it would affect my decision, but usually if you have a demographic in mind you are one step in the right direction.

Do CPA networks pull credit or background checks on applicants? Like Accurint or something.

    Just wondering. Thanks!

      Hey Ed,

Good question. No, networks walk a fine line between requiring enough documentation to ensure you are legitimate, without crossing over into the realm of legalities. We would ask you for documents, sometimes even photo ID but it was for our piece of mind, and it was never put through any credit checking systems.

Which CPA networks REALLY pay on time and what are the figures involved?

And I'm talking about networks that pay weekly and not Net15 bull or anything like that. Talking about $1000 revenue a week here.

That's the most important question. I find it funny when I was a beginner in CPA marketing, I never bothered to find out.

But now that serious money is involved, things just get more real.

Hi Calfred, networks that are constantly at the top of the polls, are the ones to go with. If you are pulling in 1k revenue per week, any of the top 3 would love to work with you -assuming your traffic is clean... and you will want to work with them as they are historically the most reliable, and, will put you on weekly payments. Don't expect weeklies right away though guys, you will have to generate a payment or two (depending on the amount) before they feel you do not pose a fraud risk, and you are a good, honest marketer.

Because some of the top networks have been hit with some pretty detrimental charges against them lately, I would advise that if you are making good money you at least move some traffic to whichever network hasn't been called out. I'm not saying to jump ship just yet, but it never hurts to have an alternate offer source, should you need it. You can sometimes find the same offer at another network for a similar payout. If one day you wake up and your network is offline, or is having payment issues, you don't have to deal with the time involved in getting an account setup somewhere else... it can take a few days.

Take some screen shots of your earnings, fill out an application, and then search for the AM's linkedin, facebook, blogs, etc. and try to skype them, call them, or email them. Be quick to show proof because Affiliate Managers' time is short, they are always multitasking between 50 different things. 1. Say it 2.prove it 3.???? 4.profit

It's been said that most CPA networks routinely scrub 10%-15% off the top of email submit payouts.

        Is that true?

          Hey videolover7,

If the network is run as a business, by professionals, this is absolutely not the case. Every click and conversion is accounted for - it would take someone modifying traffic reports and then sync'ing it up with real time stats... a system like that would be a logistical nightmare, cost hundreds of thousands of dollars and would be constituted as fraud. I can't speak for some of the low ranked networks out there, but there is no intentional scrubbing going on. Myth: Busted.

"CPA Myth Buster!" - Sounds like a good name for a list-building free report. Then you sell a high-ticket CPA coaching program on the back-end.

            The domain is available. :-)

            Thanks much for the reply.

What course of action would you recommend for somebody who is brand new & doesn't have a website yet - as far as getting accepted? Should you set up some kind of website first before applying to networks? If so, what kind of website?

Would someone new be better off focusing on CPA or affiliate marketing to get started or maybe even product creation?

I'm thinking I'd like to start with CPA and use PPC. Perhaps setting up a landing page then using PPC to drive the traffic to my site. I really dont want to take the time to learn about SEO and waste time posting on blogs or writing articles, if I can bypass all that using PPC Any advice, suggestions or ideas on this.

If you are new, and want to get into affiliate marketing, whether it's clickbank or CPA, you are going to want a website in order to get started. You can do it without having a site but you have to have a lot of experience/knowledge and be able to show a proven plan in order to get accepted. If you want to PM me I can recommend a product that is less than $300 and gets you around 5 landing pages that double as mobile and facebook landers. I recommend something like this to not only help you get into a network, but to help you market your products too. Something like this can be used with ppc as landers but will also be ranked in search engines without you having to work at it or have programming knowledge.

As a marketer you have a limited number of time so you can't really focus on becoming an expert in SEO, emailing, ppc, etc, all at the same time (atleast, not yet). If you are new, you will have to slowly add to your knowledge base as you go, but the most important step is action - there is a tendency for new internet marketers to read and learn too much while they should be learning by doing.

Hi! May I get your recommendation for that starters package you mentioned VicOnline too please? I can't send PMs yet, since I have less than 50 posts on WF.

        Thank you so much!

    AdeptMktg,

Thanks for that response. You've kind of affirmed what I was thinking. At least I think so. LOL

As soon as I get to my regular computer I'll PM you. That offer sounds interesting.

    Thanks

Thanks & I'll check out the link when you send it to me.

    Hey Vic,

No problem, glad I can help. I was trying to keep the thread unbiased towards companies, thus the PM request, but it looks like I'll have to address another persons post as they can't PM yet (turns out, neither can I). I hope you're ok with me posting your message here, if not let me know.

The product is called Total Snap (www.totalsnap.com), and it allows you to create your own landing pages, by yourself. You don't need html, java, or any other programming knowledge, it uses an MSWord type format, and you uploade banners/pictures, etc. You can create 5 different landing pages that can also be sync'd to facebook, and are mobile friendly. It retails for $395 but they are flexible I think. You can run the demo on their site to check it out before you buy. If you are looking at purchasing let me know and I can flip you a contact over there.

    Cheers

      Hi Chris,

The most common reason for denial is for lacking a solid plan. If an applicant has no experience, no website, and nothing to show me, there is no reason for us to let them on the network where they will most likely be a resource drain on our affiliate managers.

More times than not, someone fills out an application with their goal of getting accepted - when really, the goal should be to get in, grab our offers and start putting their plan into place. If I felt that you just wanted to get accepted and then try and figure out what to do from there, you're going in the denied column.
