CPA vs Affiliate vs Your Own Product

Hi! I'm a newbie to IM, but I'm not a broke newbie and do have some money to invest. My original plan is to do CPA using PPC instead of free traffic. Basically set up a landing page, drive traffic with PPC, direct to offer - maybe have opt-in on landing page for email list. This way I can avoid the SEO learning curve for now.

My question is, as a newbie, would this be a good strategy to start with or should I look at some type of affiliate marketing, such as Amazon, to learn the ropes first then do CPA? My guess is that affiliate mktg is somewhat similar to CPA in that if you can do one you probably could do the other.

Is there more money to be made in CPA or by creating your own product? My thinking is to learn the ropes with CPA (since affiliate mktg is somewhat similar) then maybe later create my own product, after I have a better idea what I'm doing. Or maybe never if CPA is profitable. Is it profitable for most of you to at least earn a living?

Anyone have any advice, suggestions or ideas on if I'm on the right track or not? Also, how hard would it be for someone with no website to get accepted into the CPA networks?

Getting your own product would not be the best way to start. Maybe once you have been successful in IM'ing and know the ropes you can branch out, but I would recommend starting with CPA and Amazon/clickbank products. Start with those two channels then branch out from there.

I'm guessing you mean separately right? Or can the two be tied together somehow on the landing page?

Yes, I do mean separately. Even the best marketers do not solely do CPA (usually), but rather are successful because they have multiple streams of marketing. So, for you I was saying start by doing CPA, as well as clickbank/amazon, and treat them as two seperate divisions of a business.

Appreciate this Adept. I was kinda wondering if doing both might be a better strategy, but then I kind of hesitated to do both, cuz I don't even know how to do 1 yet. LOL

As others have stated diversity is key, I run cpa offers, havemy own products and other streams of income. This is where you want to get to, however, just starting out I would say to pick one (I would choose cpa offers) and focus on making money with that monetization method first.

If you immediately jump into trying to create multiple income streams you are going to confuse and overwhelm yourself to the point of frustration and thats not a nice place to be in.

Stick with one traffic source, one way to monetize that traffic and then progress once you have made money

Perfect. Diversifying is important, but only when you are already making consistent money online. This is a further step. In the beginning, focus on one thing and stick with it until you master it.

IMO, CPA is the easiest/fastest start in your case, but the other models can be effective, too, you just need to keep focused and take action to learn not just from ebooks, but from your own experiences.

IMO you're better off starting by promoting CPA offers then once you get more firmiliar and get more of a budget then work on your own offer

What Chris said is correct, you will need to set your more budget like using 7Search as they are cheaps.

Once you used to the system, upgrade your level man.

Sarah, I would imagine you would suggest this because the clicks are cheaper, or is there another reason? Maybe kind of like practice before getting into the big game, sort of speak.

Always more potential for money when you have your own product, but requires a lot more to invest. Stick with CPA to start to get your feet wet.

CPA stands for "cost per action". CPA and afifilliate marketing are pretty different. A CPA offer allows you to make money continuously, there are great opportunities to make money with CPA marketing.

    Hey OP,

CPA, Affiliate Marketing and Product Creation are 3 completely different things..

CPA- You get paid for any particular action taken! It can be a Normal signup, A email submit,etc..

Affiliate Marketing- You get paid on sale Basis. You need to make sales to earn money!

Product Creation- You must be someone like a GURU in order to sell your products! Do you really think people will buy things from a person they dont know ?

If I were you.. I would have choosed CPA!

    Why ?

Its more easy then Aff Mktg and Product Creation..

You dont need to do a SALE to make money! You dont need to create a product to make money..

You just need people to do simple things like an simple email submit and TADA.. You made MONEY !

    Think Over It

    Regards
    ~Sam~

I agree that it's difficult, and I read some where that over 90% of e-books never make a single sale, but it is certainly possible.

You are right that in business your reputation is everything. Amazon.com is a faceless web-site, I don't "know" them, but I know their reputation so I am comfortable buying from them.

As a newbie you need to be constantly aware of building trust and adding value. No sales.... then add more value and offer them a free bonus for buying your product! No sales... then interact with your list (or start one) and find out what their problems are so that your products are addressing their needs.

I'm new at this too, but my impression is that people who are able to sell their own products have spent enough time in forums (related to their product/niche) and interacting with their customers, that they know there is a demand for their product before they even release it. This is a much different approach (and mindset) than creating a product first and then trying to push it on your customers.

That kind of approach is a long-term road, not overnight success - it's more of a commitment, which is why it may be easier to start off with affiliate marketing (selling someone else's product on commission). That way you can get your feet wet, make a few bucks, and learn the ropes before you devote more time and energy into creating products.

Hey join cpa fix forum and go for cpa marketing. Why I suggest is becuase the forum and creator has a great reputation to every cpa network out there and there is also a begginners guide to getting into cpa network, also just by being a member you can get accepted into most newbie friendly cpa networks and work your way in top cpa networks. With that being said the true way to lasting succes is with your own list or own products. It doesnt have to be many or complicated, because at any moment any network and get shut down and its is best if you are in control of your own income instead of a network. Once you master traffic and conversions, you are invincible.
    Enjoy your way to success.

CPA - Cost per Action despite of multiple clicks can lead to no sale. But, if one can get conversions then its the best money making network
