CPA Landing Page = Basically, *extremely* short sales letter - How do they convert?!

I'm SHOCKED.

As an online information marketer, I'm used to selling products with long-copy sales letter and 25min+ sales videos. This is AFTER someone enters my followup sequence and they receive numerous emails, etc.

But CPA offers have very little copy, are much smaller than long-copy sales letters, and get a ton of BUYERS to sign up.

From my (online information marketer's) perspective, it seems ridiculous that people would put in their credit cards with such little copy on the page...

But clearly CPA is working well... VERY well.

How are so many people comfortable buying a product with very little explanation or sales copy? (Am I missing something here?)

Usually it has a strong pre sell or framing.

Traffic directly to offers don't always convert so well.

Not at all. It depends on the type of offer and traffic source. PPV is a good example where you have to pre-sell everything in a popup window within a few seconds. It usually works well for lead generation, however there might be an OTO that takes them to an offer page to buy something and usually this will be a much longer sales page.

Not all CPA offers are purchase offers. Many are lead-gen offers or trial offers. Lead generation offers typically convert better than purchase offers as visitors aren't being asked to pull out their credit cards.

Trial offers also typically convert better than purchase offers (even though visitors are still pulling out their credit cards). And at one time they were doing extremely well. However, such offers came under the scrutiny of the FTC because of shady billing practices by advertisers. Now they don't seem to do as well.

I think it has a strong pre-sell support!

Are you sure that the offer converts on CC submission?
