I still use PPC as my main bringer of traffic, but I've had my first small successes in PPV. I also managed a sale from SEO after I had basically decided I wasn't going to pursue it any further :rolleyes: Can't complain!

  It's a much more targeted form of media buying (display ads, or banners) that lets you purchase ad space on an impression-by-impression basis in real time, as opposed to the traditional method of buying impressions in bulk (i.e. chunks of 1000 using the CPM model). That's why in the RTB world the common unit of cost is eCPM (effective CPM) since each impression is priced differently based on who is bidding at any given time. It also allows for the integration of data for even more specialized targeted. One example of this is retargeting, where you can show ads only to users that have your retargeting cookie on their computers. Another example is using 3rd party data to target users based on their browsing habits (behavioral targeting) or search history (search retargeting). In other words, you can bring the power of search (intent) over to display ads.

Facebook, 7search and PPV, all of which bring in some good traffic if worked on properly. Like all forms of paid traffic it is crucial to test first and then scale up.

Hands down mobile. Lots and lots of volume and low amounts of competition. I personally also like social media (Facebook) because their targeting beats anything I've ever seen. I'm always able to get a fairly solid ROI by going right to my target audience (no guessing with Facebook).

I've done a lot of SEO over the years but I strongly feel that social media is where everything is heading. Coding with Facebook's Timeline Open Graph you're instantly able to plug your website/application into a user-base of over 900 million users. Not many opportunities like this exist online, so if you're looking for "free" traffic - definitely look here.

Taking advertising off computers and onto phones/tablets is the future it would seem. Smart people can even make games that relates to their product that kick back to a websitead. A game could easily be downloaded and shared 1000s of times, and seen everyday by many users.

I love and hate different things about different traffic sources.... let's see:

Facebook: Love the targeting and volume. Hate the sketchy ad approvals and the constantly changing ad interface/terminology. WTF is a sponsored story, Facebook?

Google search network: Insane volume, love that, but hate the "trouble" you have to go through to promote affiliate offers.

Depends what you mean by best... In my case I would say my best traffic is traffic that converts. So I would agree with you that the best traffic comes from targeted email newsletters.
