Anybody else using SiteScout for Media Buys? Doing good with them

Hey Guys,

I was talking to a friend from LeadBolt about a month ago and he mentioned a network I haven't heard of before called SiteScout. I'm really liking this network currently.

My favorite thing is their real time bidding experience allowing me to optimize and maximize my campaigns as quickly as possible. You can bid on ad spots such as 146,000,000 impressions each day from Facebook, drudgereport, and other big sites.

I have a couple direct link campaigns pulling in a 18% ROI, which I'm very pleased with, but I'm working right now on my own landers to see what I can do with a list built from this traffic source.

There is so much traffic in this network that if you land a good campaign it is easy to scale. Anyone else in this network? Want to share Tips?

I find their re-targeting to be very powerful as well, I guess the only downfall is the $500 minimum investment.

Haven't tested sitescout personally but from talking to other affiliates most just seem to use it for testing purposes or as a place to get started, apparently their traffic overall isn't very good, but I may be wrong.

If it works for you awesome, keep at it

Also take a look at Engagebdr, they now have a self serve platform as well.

    Marian,

Basically similar strategies, a guy that is really good with buying traffic reccomended to use them to build a converting campaign and then to contact the sites and perform your own placement. I haven't done this ever since I lost close to $10k on a stupid play placing ads on perez Hilton.

Thanks for the suggestion as well

Thanks for the kind words! The system was designed with direct response and performance marketers in mind, so we definitely understand the important of optimization and ROI. The reason for the $500 minimum deposit is simply because it takes money to properly test with display advertising, and setting the minimum deposit any lower would send the wrong message to advertisers. $500 is actually quite low compared to working with ad networks and directly with publishers, but it's not for everyone.

We have thousands of sites on our system, so to generalize by saying that our traffic isn't good overall isn't fair. Each site performs differently, but you're right, many affiliates use our system for testing the quality of a site's remnant traffic and if it works, they often go direct to capture the publishers traffic in a more guaranteed way, and with better impression (session) depths.

Exactly. That's a common strategy that our advertisers use. Direct buys definitely have higher commitments, which is why we think our $500 minimum is reasonable for testing. Of course, when going direct, everything is up for negotiation. Sorry to hear about your experience with perezhilton.com. Did they blow through your budget too fast, or was their an issue with your out clause?

Nice to see a rep on the forum.

PH was just a mistake on so many different angles, them, me, my offer... It was more of a gamble but played worse then just hoping to land the ball on red 34. I was immature in the marketplace an it proved itself so...

Anyways liking what you Guys are providing, I would do some more advertising on your re-targeting as well as provide info on using it properly for new people in the marketplace.

I used sitescout once. I barley broke even which with a $500 minimum I'm glad I at least did that, but it wasn't for me. I get a much better RIO using PPC instead of banner ads
