How much money should I sock away before starting?

Hey guys. (First thread! whoo!)

Anyway, I'm looking to start buying ads to fuel either CPA, CPM or CPL offers. I will probaby start with FB, or maybe POF. I'm wondering how much money I need to save up before giving this a run? What's a decent campaign cost to get optimized? Hundreds? Thousands? $500? Some general numbers would be great.

Also...failed campaigns....you don't see them talked about much, but they must happen. Is it common to put a bunch of money, time and effort into a camapign that's a proven winner for others and it just not work for you? How common?

I plan to figure out exactly what and how I'm going to do things before I start, so please excuse my broad view of things at the moment, they will get more focused over time. I've spent a lot of time in IM, but this is my first go at ad fueled offers. Please excuse my noobiness.

$500 is a good starting amount.

I would recommend plenty of fish, it is great if you are just starting out.

Regarding how long before you should considered a campaigned "failed" it all depends.

If I was promoting something like a particular dating niche, that I see converting on POF, I would keep going until it works.

But maybe something like a CPS biz-opp, I wouldn't push as far.

how exactly is $80 going to help me run a campaign? Correct me if I'm wrong, but that's pretty much a one day run. I mean, you have to do some volume if you ever hope to get clicks. It seems most people run $100 a day....am I missing a better cheaper way to do it?

First of all, what are you going to promote?
Game offer, Dating offer, Mobile offer,
will perform well in Facebook Ads.
        Because people are playing Facebook,
they want to make some fun.

        Make sure,
Find out some offers have these factor,
        - Free sign up
        - Easy to finish
        - Don't need to confirm in email
        - no Credit card required

For Facebook campaign, you need to learn,
how to control CTR,and your CR as well.

It's a big story, but you have to move the first step.

        Hope this help!

What do you want to test?
If you select just ONE offer and ONE source of traffic $100 will be enough to test if it's working. But really all depends.

If your offer gives you $100 in commisions you should have a lot more to test. You have to get a balance between how much a conversion really worth to TEST.

You could start with $100 on 7Search for example but you would need
a lot more to scale a successful campaign.

$100 is a good amount for learning only which is why I recommend 7Search
because the traffic is cheap. You can get clicks from 2-3 cents to test.

      Hope this helps.

The best way to figure out who is right, is just start your campaigns and figure out

    Experience is the best teacher.
