You can simple go to Offervault to search the related offers.
and join the networks.

My opinion is, inside the affiliate network, there are many type of offers,
cover many niches.

So it really doesn't matter which network you should join.

If you are newbie, the easiest and best choice for you is,
Peerfly & Maxbounty.

Has anyone tried Sharesale.com?

I'm also considering setting up an affiliate scheme as a merchant. But my concerns are

1. Set-up fees & Affiliate Fee Deposit - appreciate these are a given but don't want them too high

2. Size of network

3. Network prone to fraudulent transactions

my product is selling from $4.99 pcm (higher packages around $29.99) and aimed at webmasters.

I've considered trying to run own programme, but it's about time and resources as much as anything.

Like how would you like to optimzie your site, it doesn't really necessary to work with a Cost Per Action network, while you can also work with Clickbank products, adsense?

I personally like Peerfly, Luke is amazing and I think it would be a great place to start!
But you definitely wanna listen to guys like Chris! Just going to be a trial and error process I guess.

Commission Junction is better than amazon's affiliate network for most tech related things in my experience, but definitely split-test.

for small networks you can go for cpatank, affiliatecashpile etc.
for big companies you should try Commission junction, click bank, EWA. its tough to get it to EWA but its the best one.
You can Try Performance dating if you are interested in dating niche.
