Does Hosting Location Affect Landing Page Speed

I currently have hosing in London u.k. I was wondering If this will be an issue due to slower landing page speed when I start sending paid traffic from countries such as U.S, Australia, Canada and any other countries for that matter. Thanks

As long as the host has decent hardware and a good connection then there should be no issues

The landing pages would be slower with the increased distance but the difference would be minuscle.

Yes location affects speed, especially for those of us in Australia. Typical latency to the US from Australia is around 220ms, and about 280ms to the UK. It isn't really noticeable to the end user, but technically it is slower to respond when clicking onto or within the site.

Just to add extra information. The type of information you are serving will not be affected dramatically and noticeably. Naturally, if you were running a gaming server it would be a completely different story.

It affects the speed for sure but the difference will be almost negligible. So you do not have to really worry about the speed unless its very slow.

Everyone seems to agree the difference should be minimal. I just asked this question as I am now moving hosts and wanted to check using a u.k host for paid international traffic would be ok.
    Thanks for the help.

Reason for your landing page slow may be due to more images and flash picture, more contents in the landing page can be reason for slowness of landing page.

Yes for example if your landing page load in 1 second , in the US it will take +3 seconds and it's normal to optimize it you must use mirrors in the countries you are tageting .. there a tool that help to improve it , check it and test with diferents locations : Pingdom Tools

and use CloudFlare CDN this tool Distribute your content around the world so it’s closer to your visitors (speeding up your site)

    Good luck !!

As far i know that this is not the case. It's all about the server of your host.

If you facing slowness or high load time, it's better to contact your host or get your webpage fixed by an expert.(Later one only if you are using lots of javascripts)
