Easy Way to Increase your CTR

Hey everyone! Here's an quick and easy tip to increase your click-through rate with Adwords, or any other ad service for that matter. Somewhere in your title, include either the ™ or ® symbol in your ad headline. I've seen my CTRs increase by 1% or more. If you don't think that's significant, then think of it this way:

Let's say you get 4,000 impressions on a given day in Adwords.

With a CTR of 2%, you get 80 clicks.

But if you can bump that to 3%, you get 120 clicks.

Let's say you've got a CPA product that converts every 20 clicks, paying you $30 bucks. And let's say you pay $.5 per click. That means when you spend $10, you make $30.

So with 40 additional clicks, you've got an additional $60 bucks in your pocket - for 1 day. And that's on top of what you made from the rest of your clicks. And obviously the theory remains the same when you scale your campaigns up.... you can see how increased CTRs can mean extra bank for you.

I've tested this and it works. So try it out and enjoy your higher CTR's! Best of luck.

Interesting tactic, how long have you been noticing the increase in CTR? Has it been consistent? I've been looking for creative ways to increase CTR, and 1% is indeed significant. I'll probably give this a shot and see if it makes any different in my CTR.

    Hi,

A good idea, though not new. Courses like Day Job Killer and Google Detective already pointed out that the use of numbers and symbols in your Adwords ad attract extra attention from surfers. Putting these in your ads wil stimulate your CTR significantly.

The same goes for other little tricks: 'Get Rich in 72 Hours' is far more impressive than 'Get Rich in 3 Days'. And 'Lose 20 Pounds in 30 Days' will get you a better CTR than 'Lose 10 Kilos in a Month'. That's only standard psychology.

I do have one question though. Is it legitimate way of using the trademarks and copywrite symbols in the Headline of the ad or some where in the ad copy?

      Federal Registration Symbol ®

The traditional trademark symbol or federal registration symbol may be used once the mark is actually registered with the USPTO. Even though an application is pending, the registration symbol may not be used before the mark has actually become registered. The federal registration symbol should only be used on goods or services that are the subject of the federal trademark registration.
I doubt the above would be a problem - unless the practice became widespread in which case I would expect google to speak up about it.

It's given me a bump of .5 to 1% at times. The larger point is to catch the eye of whoever's browsing the ads, rather than the specific way of catching the eye.

Particularly if you're being places in the 6 or 7 spot, a little extra can help.

Thanks. Yes, I have found the same with the TM symbol. Just copy & paste it to the end of the title.

Also, a little trick I learned while at AC... Make the ad more personal and make yourself look dumb:

"i Was frustrated with being Fat, until I Learned these 10 little Secrets..." I tried it with a couple offers and my CTR jumped significantly.
