Does Facebook hate email landers?

I couldn't find any info on this, but does Facebook dislike it when you link outside to a custom built landing page designed to capture emails?

For example, My FB ad could be:

title: Restaurant Reviews On Us!
ad copy:Not sure where to eat tonight? Get restaurant reviews here.

And then when they click the FB Ad,

I'll have a simple custom built landing page that will be pretty to the point, like: submit your email here to get reviews of local restaurants in your area.

Does FB hate this kind of practice?

  • No...BUT....you need to have a privacy policy that spells out exactly what you are going to do with the user's email address. You can use a standard one, it's very easy to find. Google it.

Right. You need to say why you need the user's email (e.g. to send a report, to send a free course, etc) and have a privacy policy.

Eventually some of your landing pages may get rejected, but create more than one to test and some of them will certainly pass.

Make sure to have a privacy policy included. Another tip to help you is look into building out your own Facebook "app" that will essentially have your squeeze page iframed on Facebook. Facebook would really prefer that you keep the traffic on Facebook. Plus, this will also build trust with your visitors. Good luck!

They really prefer to keep the traffic on their site. Be careful with those apps though. If you make an app that redirects to a squeeze page when clicked on it can back fire tremendously. Making an app with an iframe would probably be much safer to do.There used to be a point in time when the email capture wasn't as strict as it seems to be now.
