first campaign on sitescout

Hi,

Just got my first campaign in mediabuying through sitescout.

I am trying to target a weight loss product through landing page. I have tried to use sites with traffic having 70% females aged 30+. Here are the stats until now.

initially i set my cpm bid at 0.30, then changed it to 0.50 and then 1.00, all of a sudden it consumed 15$.

No lead yet.

Can someone help me out in this.

I am not familiar with Sitescout, but I would testing more ads to try to get a better CTR.

You CPC seems pretty high, but maybe that is normal on Sitescout.

They are not scam and they are 100% legit , if media buying doesn't work for you you can`t put blame of service you are using . Ask any media buyer and he will only say good things about them

Well it is self serve... you choose the sites without checking their post panda rankings or whatever. I think that one is on you bud.

You are buying on a CPM basis so you have to get your CTRs up to lower your CPC.

Media buying demands lots of tracking, testing and optimizing. Try to be careful about your demographic you chose for your niche and it is better to analysis the demographic by which websites your target audiences mostly hang out and then target them with your CPM campaigns.

You can also spy on the advertisers in your niche to figure out what they are promoting and where. Services like WhatRunWhere and Adbeat can give you valuable insights about competition analysis.

If I were you I'd test different niches or test these niches for more time. Set a maximum spending budget / campaign and you shall be good.

Your CTR was really very low there at 0.03%. That can`t be so good. Try to get it up to 0.1% minimum and double that if possible.

I would try with a bunch of relevant sites, then filter down to the 3 or 4 that have better CTR and conversion rates.

SiteScout, like any RTB platforms, will not really yield positive results because of the lack of "intent" on the part of the audience. I run display campaigns using AppNexus and we have better conversions for CPL campaigns, not so much with CPA campaigns.

Impressions are good. CPC is fine, you can make weight loss work around $2.00 CPC if you know what you're doing. Spend about $200 on it and post a update!

    *inspects your screen cap*

    "Hmmmm"

    *scratches chin*

"CTR: 0.03%. Well, there's your problem"

    *points at your banner*

Work on making your banner better.

    What audience are you targeting?
    What do they want?
    What's the benefits?
Does your headline jump out of the screen and slap your prospect in the face and say to them "Listen ugly, (I'm just assuming) are you reading this? Good. Because now you really need to click here BECAUSE IT'S IMPORTANT TO YOU AND WILL HELP YOU VERY, VERY MUCH!!"? Well does it? Because if it doesn't then you're leaving clicks on the table.

Give your banner an angle. Remember, the only reason someone will click it is if it's beneficial to them. Make your banner relate to their needs and then they will click.

Try different headlines. Scare them. Excite them. Make their mouth water just thinking about your offer.

Two words: Eye-catching pictures. (Or is that three? I don't know. You decide)

    Basically...

Work on your banner and make sure it grabs their attention.

    See what I did there?

    Now you try.
