Hoping anyone with experience using Media Traffic or TrafficVance or popup advertising in general could answer a couple questions I have.

1. Is it best to link straight to your affiliate link offer page from the popup? Or is it best to link to a pre-sell page and then the affiliate offer from there?

2. How effective is it to build a list using the popup? The popup page being where they can opt in and then redirecting them to either presell page or affiliate link offer.

3. If a person has a popup blocker of some kind (like adblock+ extension or something similar) does it still count as view? I'm curious if these advertising places count failed popups as a view because they attempted to display it.

4. How do you track the ratio of views to clicks?

I know that answers to 1 and 2 are going to mainly going to depend on the offer, but I'm looking for what will usually work best. I appreciate the help as I venture out in this new area.

    1. Test both, but a good landing page almost always converts better for me.

    2. This works great. I usually start with getting the offer the convert then I move onto testing list building.

    3. To my best knowledge no. And I highly doubt it.

    4. CPVLab is great for tracking PPV.

    See my post here:

It has a lot of info in it for PPV.

    I believe I can speak on #3.

The pop unders are generated by a stand alone program that users have installed. I do not believe it actually originates from the browser its self. Therefore, ad blockers would not affect it.

      1. The best way is to link straight to your affiliate link offer page from the popup.

      3. If a person is using a popup blocker, it will not count as view.

If using direct linking, the size of the pop up might be smaller than the offer page..so the conversion will drop right?

Lots of good information there. Why do we need a dedicated server?

Everything should be clickable? Including ALL text?

I'll be using mediatraffic, i heard they provide some kind of tracking?

And what do you mean redirect with the script? Isn't it just linking straight from the popup to the affiliate link?

    Your help is much appreciated.

If you don't have a good enough server, it will struggle to handle your traffic and tracking.

Every defiantly make everything clickable. Or even make your ad one big image file so it can be a link.

CPVLabs is the best PPV tracking, but it is not free.

Don't use Media Traffic - you won't have much success.
Agreed. Stick with LeadImpact, and TrafficVance

      Amazing input Greedy!

I went to your site. Wow, thanks.

I've been away from my online business for years. Got burnt out after a strong run from 99 to '08.

Anyway, I hate Google. Not the engine, love the engine...I hate everything else. Screw them that they have so much control of what, where, when I advertise.

Anyway, for several reasons I'm excited about PPV, and then some tier2 CPC once our squeezes, lead gen, and conversions prove out.

I have a few questions. Hopefully you'll pop in to see them.

      1) Have you considered a paid Webinar training course? I've been on a free one that was really helpful, but I thought someone that knew their stuff could charge for it.

      2) Thoughts on DirectCPV? They've been recommended to me, as has Media Traffic, unfortunately. I will stay away from them. Though...the guy that said when someone stays do this or don't use them, it's often best to do the opposite might be on to something. lol! Like any money making niche online the majority lose money....so odds are...do the opposite of what most people are doing. :p

      3) We are planning on keeping it simple, the popup is a squeeze email only and we take them to a make money online offer. The copy is stunning vs most make money offers, so the pop to lead conversion should be higher than normal. What is normal btw? We are, depending on the offer copy we can use, in that 30-50% range. Is that about right for strong CPV copy/offer?

I can't imagine going from a solid image ad to landing, then to a site. Do people then go to a sales page and pop up an optin form? I just don't see where a single clickable image ad would work well??

      4) Can you share what tracking you use? We use Adtrackz Gold just recently installed. I am worried about the server. We've been on a severely shared server since I've been gone and not active. It's time. I'm glad you brought it up. We move from Web.com to Godaddy years ago and the server we are on now...wow. horrid. But it's like $100+ a year too.

      5) The only other concern is managing, working with, and tracking what I imagine is a ton of urls and or keywords to get the amount of traffic an advertiser needs. Rather than focus on the super high traffic stuff as with adwords, it's better to have tons of lower traffic more targeted keywords/urls, right? Is handling all of it tough?

I though maybe CPVLabs is the only option, but remembered that was really expensive....maybe not as much now. Trying to watch expenses so we can put as much money into adverting and marketing as we relaunch.

Again thanks to all the Warriors. I used to have a different account years ago, and I've recently just been researching and this site again has been instrumental in that the last 4 months.

      Peace,

      Wittman

Isn't it more niche specific. When someone tells me to avoid a traffic source, I usually do that one first.

Alright, I opened up a LeadImpact and a MediaTraffic account, got them funded and will be testing both.

I don't plan on gathering any emails at the moment, so it'll just be a landing page, not a squeeze page.

Looking at LI, they say they open up the popups in an 800x600 window. If I create the landing page as just one big image so the whole thing is clickable, will the entirety of an 800x600 image show up in a window, or do i need to make it slightly smaller? Thanks for your help.

I'm new to affiliate marketing and ppc but I thought that popups and popunders produce very poor conversions.

Do people actually still click on popups and popunders?

Do consumers only click on cpa offers?

Can I get good sales from physical products on CPV?

Yes, people still click on pop-ups and pop-unders.

Physical products are hard to promote, but you could build an email list using PPV then promote physical products to them. That would work a bit a better still maybe hard.

Personally I will stick with 2nd tier ppc networks. As a customer I personally don't click on popups or popunder ads.

I would much rather click on a text or banner ad.

Another question I have (and I hope I'm not doing it wrong because I'll be promoting a physical product...)....

Lets say I'm promoting a bowling ball shiner product. Totally pulled that out of my hat.

So a website I want to target is bowling.com. Well that's too general and I'll get unwanted wasted views. So the link to bowling ball products, specificall the shiners, is at

    bowling.com/store/section/accessories/SHINERS

In PPV can I pay to have a popup pop only when they are at that full URL? Not just at bowling.com, or at another part of the store viewing balls or shoes or gloves, etc. Is this how PPV targeting works?

Because lets say I want to promote a product that offers to teach me to be a better texas hold em poker player. so i go to a poker website, say poker.com. and you can go to different sections of the site, look at omaha games, stud, etc. But when they go to the hold em section I want the popup to pop, and the url is

    poker.com/page/texas-hold-em-live-games.htm

I can bid on these whole queries where my ad only pops up there right? Laser targeted traffic?

Also targed certain subsections of forums? Instead of the whole forum, or even the main page, i want to pop only in a certain subforum. This is possible right? Like I had an ad I wanted to pop on this subforum here:

Ad Networks - CPA, CPM, CPL - Millionaire Makers..

my popup will show nowhere else than while in this subforum right? And is there a limit to how many characters you can have as your keyword through leadimpact? Because some URLS get rather long.

If someone could clear this up it would be great. Oh, and also, why does everybody recommend getting rid of the http://www. before the domain?

Do these PPV networks put a character limit on the keyword? If I want the keyword to be a URL, but the URL is very long, I want to make sure there's not a character limit.

I know on leadimpact there is a limit. It can't be super super long... it won't take it. but most urls are short so it shouldn't be a problem.

Not really, for instance if I want to pop on this articles on a website:

        bowling.com/articles/10/12/tips-and-tricks-for-getting-the-most-out-of-your-spin

I hate URLs like that, but they exist

No, but longer URLs and keywords are going to get minimal traffic.

Thanks for the all the helpful responses so far. I'd appreciate it if someone could point me in the direction of a good PPV landing page template? I've been looking into Lead Rocket and Optimize Press. I've read that Lead Rocket has been converting better for some people. Any thoughts on that?

It is impossible to tell until you test, every niche and network is different.

No, it is better to focus on 10 high volumes URLs when starting out. That is how myself and many other do it. Cheaper for testing and managing.
