I wanted to first of all thank the active users of this forum. I have been on just about a week and have learned a lot. I started my AM journey back again just a few days ago and am really excited about the opportunity!

In any event, what I am really looking for is somewhat of a mentor figure in my AM life. Most people with background in IM and AM all seem to mention having a mentor or someone you can always go to. As I mentioned before, these forums are amazing. But sometimes a single person you're able to go to can be more helpful than a group collaboration.

I want to make sure it's out there though - I am not looking for someone to tell me the latest ups or downs in the market. I'm not looking to peek in on you and find out where you're getting your traffic from or what offers you are working with this week. In my view, a mentor isn't someone who holds your hand along the journey, but gently nudges you so that you stay on the path.

A little about me - I have lots of background experience as a web designer. Mostly html and css. I also know my way around photoshop and have background in designing ads and POP's. I know my way around the hosting world - I even bought a VSP and a couple domains and can get around cpanel and making new domains and all that good stuff. I even tried my hand in this market about 6 years ago. I just about broke even, but I'm down on my luck again and am looking to make this my career now.

If you think you'd be a good fit and we could mesh well, then feel free to respond here - I'm not sure I can respond to PM's.

What traffic sources and methods are you looking to learn/use?

I'd like to at least start off in the CPA realm because I think it gives me the most flexibility in my budget. And also, I'm having a hard enough time getting one click to convert into one e-mail signup, let alone trying to sell a clickbank product yet!

I'm looking at developing three tiers of what I'd like to do and it involves what type of search I would be using.

      1. First Tier - This would be sites I only use cpc/cpm/other paid traffic source here. These are quick deals and maybe even 1 page/email cpa's would go in this category.

      2. Second Tier - This would be a combo of SEO and paid traffic. Sites that will be sub-domains of my main traffic site. I will build sites with articles, update them monthly or bi-monthly with new content, and try different types of offers on.

      3. Thir Tier - These will be purely SEO driven. They will be where I generate the biggest and most target focused lists from. I will have about three of these sites - different types of structured blogs that will be updated daily. They will take a lot of maintenance and upkeep, but again-this is going to be my full time job.

I know it may sound grandiose, but I believe in myself and my own problem solving abilities. I just really need the guidance of someone from the industry.

I can mentor you. But working hard is your own responsibility. You can get my skype from my profile.

A mentor can certainly speed up the process and help you get relatively fast results.

However, keep in mind that you also need to be in the right mindset to succeed with a mentor. Just because you got someone to help you it doesn't mean that you have eliminated all your chances of failing. You need to be able to keep focused and work hard. The mentor will show you the right path, but you have to do your part.

I have coached many people during the last 2 years and I can tell you that the students with the right mindset have a much higher success rate.

If you can get a mentor great, if not don't worry about it.

The problem I see with newbies that get mentors they become too dependent.

99% of the top internet marketers have had no mentorship.

Is it appropriate then, to post case studies with info on traffic and such on this particular forum? I have some data and the problem for me early on has been interpreting it.
