PPV Campaign: Top Bidder Vital??

Is it vital to be a top bidder everytime for a PPV campaign to be successful??

    No, this is one tip/secret of some of the top affiliates, depending on the cost and traffic level sometimes it's better to be second or third. You still get traffic from the 2nd and 3rd spot, just not as much. Play around and test different bids, you might be surprised.

      I agree. I may higher when I am testing to keep things moving, but then settle my bids after.

      On PPC platforms, being the top bidder is necessary for the highest quality traffic. With PPV, this is not the case.

      You'll want to gain a significant amount of data for how well a certain keyword or URL performs. Specifically, you'll want to know the EPC that it gets. Then, check the highest bid positions and see how they compare to the EPC. If you can still make a good profit in position 1, go ahead and be #1 so you can get the most traffic. If you can't pull good profit from the top spot, check to see if you can still get in a position that gets traffic and still makes profit.

      BTW, if you're in the testing phase, bidding in the top spot is a good way to get data and optimize quickly, even though you may spend a bit more to get that data.
