Revenue goes down on holiday

Hi my fellow warrior, I realize that the revenue of my campaign goes down on this holiday. Do you get the same ?

Depends on what you are promoting/selling.

I'd say on average most online businesses feel the pain over the holidays.

The company I work for right now basically declares Nov-Jan a dead zone for them, their entire business practically shuts down. Instead of marketing, we focus on development and new infrastructure to get ready for February.

Yeah obviously it depends what your site is selling.

A lot of people actually get more traffic this time of year because of more people looking online to buy things.

But if your site sells non-seasonal products/services then you are naturally going to see a dip in traffic/sales until it picks up again in the new year.

A lot of people are skint after christmas and don't get paid again until end of january and theyre then paying off christmas still so its not really until end of Feb that things start picking up again.

Depends on your promotion offer and your traffic source

Yeah, Christmas is bad for dating. But all those Christmas family bust-ups make it a good Q1 2013.

Christmas day, (the 25th), was bad for my dating campaign on POF but the other days weren't bad at all. (Slight downward trend lately though).

Dating does work year round though.

Its obvious if you are promoting your business in US or UK or in any other country where people get holidays from Christmas to New year. It is common I think.

I noticed a downward spike in my dating campaigns over the holidays as I mentioned in my case study thread:
    http://www.warriorforum.com/ad-netwo...campaigns.html

Usually now is a great time to start pushing traffic hard though because everyone is in "New Years Resolution mode" and the big brands have used up their Q4 budget and are just starting Q1

I'd say overall that it's common (and expected) for traffic to decline during holidays. As such, there will be a decline in revenues. But I gather it really depends on what your niche, target market, and offer is.

My traffic normally declines during the holidays. But I'm not complaining. I still get a kick out of those early Christmas morning orders I get.

Yeah thank guys for help, I have 15% ctr on PPV traffic and 0.05% CTR for mediabuy traffic, the CTR is quite good but I can not make it converts like it used to be. I'm trying to rotate more new offers. Anyway happy new year guys, hope all of you will have a success year

Dating might slow down over Christmas, but right now (first week Jan) is apparently peak time: Dating sites swamped as families lift pressure

50% increase in new member registrations this week.

I sell a Hypnotherapy Training Course and it normally peaks in December, but this year - zilch. So if the economy stays the same next year, I will use the time to take a rest and enjoy time with the family.

I almost always see lower conversion rates on holidays in every niche I run. I know some people have different results, but I just need to remember to turn off campaigns the night before holidays now.

I'm off to a flier with dating offers in January $$$$. Christmas with the family is obviously bad for many people, plus all those single people realise how lonely they are at this time of year.

The weight loss marketing guys must also be making a killing this month!
