My Campaign Was Ripped!

Hey,
Imagine my surprise when I got onto POF today as a fake user, only to see my ads all over the place.

The only problem is, my campaigns aren't running!

This slime has ripped my ad image, text, landing page and offer, right down to the last detail!

Has this ever happened to you?

More times then I can count.

    Get used to it.

You know all those wonderful spy tools? This is what they do.

    Ha yes.

By an affiliate manager one time.

By random affiliates many more times.

It royally p!ssed me off for a couple of hours.

    Then I realised...

Spy tools are good for finding out what's been running for a while already.

The campaign he ripped is converting less well than my newer ads and LPs.
So while it's annoying, he is on borrowed time as these older ads that he copied were getting lower CTR than my newer funky cool ads.

Even the creator of Adult Ads Spy said clearly that their tool is not to copy and duplicate, it's to improve on existing campaigns.

It turns out some losers can't even do that.

This is the nature of online affiliate marketing.

It's only a matter of time before your stuff is ripped.

Those who do nothing but rip campaigns are always behind the ball..

While those who innovate and are creative are always ahead of the learning
      curve and making more $$$

Just out hustle everyone and you'll be alright.

Nothing wrong with ripping campaigns. It's part of the business.

You should be honored that your campaign was ripped! Lol means that you were probably profitable depending on how long you kept it running for. Now if it wasnt profitable and they ripped it from you then sucks to suck for them and that should teach them a lesson.

The worst feeling is having your ads ripped off. The best feeling is knowing that you are getting better with ad creation that people actually want to use your ads

I was told that if by chance I have a very successful ad/campaign, it will be ripped off. One of the downsides of a marketing method that has few barriers. It would have been very difficult to rip off my authority site that had videos, blogs, etc hanging off of it. But an ad - child's play.

OK cool, I'll just copy your products, content and campaigns to make some good money for myself cheapo style.

Just post your links openly here so I can do that.

Then you can get used to it yourself

The thing is this happens to hard working affiliates everyday.

That's why no one is feeling sorry for you.

Hate to be blunt like that, but its the truth I'm not going to sugar coat it.

Like Taun said save your energy for scaling your campagin, not getting fustrated.

    Here's some food for thought.

You can copy someone's Banners, Landing Pages, and Offers.

But you know what? That doesn't mean you'll be profitable..

How do you know if your getting the same payout per offer as the person
    your ripping?

How do you know what their Frequency Capping,GEO Targeting, Day & Week Parting is..

You can only mimic certain parts of the funnel, typically the person who
your ripping has already gathered more data then you... Has already optimized
    ahead of you.

Also what if your ripping a 'losing' campaign.

Years ago I use to worry about people ripping me all day, now I focus on my own material and scaling + optimizing..

The moment I did that the more money I started making.

  • Stop whining and get back to work. This is what happens in this business. Follow this rabbit hole down, and you'll see this happening a hell of a lot. This is why you need to have something unique to bring to the table, to out market other people.

Traffic sources will rip your campaigns.

Ad networks will rip your campaigns.

    Advertisers will rip your campaigns.

So think, how can you position yourself where you have something unique to the deal?

Be/buy the advertiser, ad network, traffic source.

      Lol..

      Not expecting sympathy guys

Just wanted to hear about everyone else's experiences.

I'm far luckier than most. English-speaking campaigns get pillaged constantly and in less time.

This was a foreign language campaign and it explains why it was copied word for word...because the guy doesn't understand the language.

I however, do which is why I can constantly reinvent, tweak and optimise in less time..

That's some good advice. Elipse the competition.

        Well stated, Tuan.

I just had one of my landers and angles ripped too. To go a step further, the lander's being sold as part of a product today and the angle revealed in his walk-thru video. Ouch. It was nice having zero competition while it lasted, but I knew this was part of the game. I'm still relatively new to CPA but see this as a confirmation that I'm on the right track.

If they rip it and then try to sell it as a product that's low.

But yeah, the people who rip campaigns are just short cut seekers and typically have very small budgets, very limited patience, no experience and don't last anyway.

Give them a week running your stuff incorrectly then start up your campaign again.
