Pof Ads frequency cap, does this setting matter much?

so as the title say, I'm wondering if anyone has any conclusive experience using this setting, default is 5 per visit, I changed to 8 per visit, I read somewhere that 9 is good, not sure based on what, so does anyone have any input in using this criteria?

Also I'm a bit new to POF ads, tested one month last year and this year i started using it again last month. I bid 0.17 at the beginning of last month and that got me like 8k impressions a day for couple of weeks, which was good, now these days at 0.17 I only get about less than 3k impressions daily, what would be the reason for this sudden drop of more than 50% if other criteria remain the same?

    Usually, I'd go with 1 to 3 frequency cap if your goal is to drive sales or leads to an offer.

    8 is a bit excessive, unless you're going for brand awarness and you're not concerned about generating leads.

    The main issue here is that after the visitors views your ad more than a few times, he starts to develop ad blindness, thus the ctr and the overall performance of your ads will drop significantly if you have a high frequency cap.

    Assuming there is an abudance of traffic, you'd get a better bang for your buck with a lower ctr.

    Think about it, what would be better:
    100 visitors viewing the same ad 8 times
    or
    800 visitors viewing your ad once

    Also, your bid seems low.

    As a rule of thumb I try to keep this 3-5 (but as always I make changes and monitor the results)
    Typically I find 3-5 works well and helps against some types of banner blindness
