How Often Do You Email Your List???

I'm trying to figure out how successful marketers make their income consistent, and all I can think of, is that they email their list on a consistent basis. But how often does that have to be in order to keep your commissions consistent? And then what happens after you do make a sale, isn't theres a high chance that your subs won't want to buy from you again, or at least not for a awhile? That would definitely screw with your rates, so how do successful IMers keep it real and consistent?

I typically either try to have a list setup to email daily, or every other day, but not every day is a CPA (or money making) promotion.. i try to keep the majority of the emails good content that will benefit the receiver, or at least give them information they want, then every once and a while sneak in an offer or a way to make some money off them

Depends on niche, but mostly what i have seen people more response to is. 2 useful email in a week with no advertising in it just information quality (preselling the product) and then i will send them a 3rd email with cpa in them.

what ever you do...don't send too many. I can't tell you how many companies, individuals I have unsubscribed from for too many emails. We don't do more than 3 a week.

Agree 100%. I don´t have a list but I´m subscribed into more than one, and I hate to get burned by receiving promotions every single day (I mean promotions with aff links in every single e-mail everyday, if some of them were just e-mails with valuable info would be a different case). For me, examples of marketers who know how to manage their list would be Kenster, Chad Hamzeh and Gene Pimentel. I feel comfortable with them and when they send an aff link it´s usually good stuff and not just another e-mail that will give them more money.

I ran a test. Sending to my list daily or every 3 days. Made much more sending daily.

Sending every 2 or 3 days works effectively. What matter most is consistency though. Whether or not you send every week or every day try to send at the same time every time. This way there is an expectancy from your subscriber whether or not they want to read it. Also, if you are going to send a few emails per week have some structure and value to what you send. Email #1 could be information or advice. Email #2 a Free Offer or service. Email #3 Discussion or a link to valuable info on your site. Email #4 a promotion.
Expectancy and the ritual of this will increase open rates and keep a healthy relationship.
As for unsubscribes who needs them - move on and deal with the people who are interested.

I think that if you send every day people can cancel subscription. I think 2-3 times a week is just great.

It depends on what you are sending to them. If these are informative e-mails, I think it's okay to send them daily just as long as they receive something useful from it. For other e-mails, the average is three times a week.

you do not want to come across as a spammer, but then again, be warned if you build a list and then plan to email them once a month, you are failing as a list builder, as they will pretty much forget who you are after a while.

I like piggy in the middle, I make sure I keep them entertained, but do not annoy them, and email 2-3 times a week. Also I like to catch them in the mornings before they go to work, or straight after they get home 6pm - 7pm times work best.

Remember its about trust, so if you can do that, you will get nice open rates and good responses. Make sure they look forward to your email, not see you in their inbox, and GO, "oh not this DH again!, what is he selling this time!" LOL I guess you know what I mean.

I agree with the 2 to 3 times a week, possibly every other day. Lead with a theme and content, before you put the offer out. Earn their trust and your list will be very receptive.

Give it a test. If you can provide people value, it can work amazing.

I'm following the Eben Pagan model of sending people long emails (he claims one email was 37 pages long printed, not sure about that). They are entirely content heavy with very little promotion in them as I build my list and things to offer. I'm trying to spread these out every 2-3 days in an autoresponder chain for the first 2-3 weeks as follow-ups to my initial offer.

After that, though, I'm not sure. A few similar sites just send their entire blog post for the day in an email. I feel like that gets people not you visit your site and see the other stuff you've got for them - the stuff that sells. Thoughts?

MailChimp won't let you do make money online or biz-opp.

    So I use Aweber.

And always single opt-in. Also I don't think MailChimp allows single opt-in.

I believe CPA networks only allow promotion to double opt-in list?
Every CPA network's rules are different, you'll have to check with them.

Matt Bacak says email every day, sometimes twice a day - once in the morning and then in the evening. He also says sell in every email whether or not you are giving information. But he also said "the strongest force on the internet ... is not the technology, the list, the traffic ...
... it's the relationships that create them." So maybe it isn't a question of how often but more the content. He says every day you don't send is a lost sale. He also says don't worry about the unsubscribes, you're going to get them anyway. You can please all the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time etc!

Personally I'm not so sure. I guess the only way is to test it but make sure the content is good and informative. You can be informative and do a subtle selling job as well. be more chatty like you are on Facebook (if you're on FB) or any of the other social medai sites.

Every 3 days has worked the best for me. However, it depends on many factors.

That depends on your market and subscriber's condition.
I send 2 emails a week. so they dont forget me and also they don't get sick of me.

Everybody has their own style. And it's important to point out that a list isn't the only means to make money...a majority of money online is not made through email marketing...in fact, it makes up a tiny portion of commerce online.

With that said, many info marketers do email marketing

And each has their own style. Many mail offers every single day and others once a week. There is no right way as I've seen people who mail once a month make more than some who mail every day and vice versa.

Generally, people are constantly building their list as some subscribers drop off and some become more responsive each and every day.

Me personally, I don't make email marketing a focus. If you're on my list, you'll see that I don't promote much and don't even have a scheduled frequency. Probably 90% of my emails aren't pitching anything.

In my mind, I view the relationships I build from my list as more valuable than any affiliate promo. I still do promote stuff that I think my subscribers will benefit from and I feel it's my obligation to do so, but it's certainly not a huge profit center in my business.

So I guess the point is...there ISN'T a right or wrong way to do email marketing...and you don't even need to do it in the first place!
