My landing page is doing great and my offer is converting amazingly, BUT my ad on pof is bringing in a terrible CTR..... im avging around 0.05% CTR. And, ofcourse, because of this im losing money. seeing about a 50% ROI.

I have some great, eye catching 310x110 banners running that even I would click on.

So, what gives? Is my demographic too broad?

I'm hitting - age, ethinicity, location, browser type. Should I hit another major target?

any ideas from the pros?

It's hard to say without seeing your ads and exact targeting. How many different ads have you tested so far?

4 and they all performed around the same.

Try setting a lower login count and a frequency cap of 3. That should help your CTR a bit.

It's as simple as this. POF doesn't have a lot of volume. So cut down on targeting. What I do is - select just the country, gender and age.

If you have a moderate budget, vary the frequency cap option.

Don't bother with martial status and all that because if a person is married and not looking to date, he wouldn't be on pof, would he?

Later on once you have significant data, use login count, session and all those extra stuff.

Also what may be eye-catching to you is not necessarily the same to your demo. Try some ugly stuff too. Split test ad copies, insults, etc.

    Hope this helps you out

Session Depth – Session Depth is how many pages a user has viewed since logging into their account. I like to set this over 5, because when a user initially logs in, they are fairly distracted with their new messages ect.

Thank you! I always wondered about session depth.

I've had this exact problem with POF before, either your CTR's are great but the CVR is too low, or the CVR's are great but the CTR's suck...Or even both will work out good, but volume is to low to make real money.

I say, try to go for Country, age ranges, genre, login counts & non-mobile...Shoyuld be a good basic targeting. After that if you're targeting more niche, add in the required targeting criterias.

Your bids could also be the problem...
