BUY SELL ADS BOGUS!??

I have came across a site that says it gets 435,000 Monthly impressions in buy sell ads in a niche..

here is the URL : Weightloss-way.com | Diets from A to Z, all possible ways to lose weight and stay healthy

and the price for 5k impressions is 125.

I then check traffic and demos. at Alexa, Quantcast, and Compete.com and there is not data...something fishy is going on here...

thoughts? Where is buy sell ads getting data that says it is getting all these impressions?

Yea mostly fake traffic, I doubt all those are real visitors. Be cautious, you did the write thing by coming here and asking about it.

I am really dissapointed with buy sell ads...Crap traffic and Bogus B.S. traffic stats...you totally get what you pay for here.

I can get conversions on other sites and sources...I am pretty much done with them...I saw a guru that was testing out this source a while back and now his ads are gone..why because buy sell ads sucks and took my money for some crappy ass traffic.

Buysellads is actually a good site, but YES, you have to do your own research.

      This.

You have to do your own research. Buy the smallest ad and see what the daily impressions are. Are there real comments on the blog? Repeat visitors? Does it feel like real traffic, etc?

Sorry to bother you, what makes you want to say that ? What kind of research ? The figures they are giving you are lies then ?

      Tx 4 yr time

I saw the answer of cash37 later - it clarifies a little bit.

I bought ad space on a site from BuySellAds, and I feel I got screwed. The ad description says 728x90 and will be placed at the top of the site. To me... that means it will be "at the top of the site".

The buy that I made was for 10k impressions for $25, and the site was "Cat"-related, and got a good amount of traffic.

My results have been terrible. I've rotated through 5 or 6 banners, and it seems there's nothing that will make this campaign profitable. But I've only lost $25, so you live and learn. I still have a few thousand impressions to receive but I don't see any success here.

Here is the thing I have found with BuySellAds:

I have run traffic a couple years ago to test the network, I was direct linking to an affiliate ad, it didn't go over that well. You have to really look at the sites you are advertising on.

But here is the thing, the network here is geared towards designers and web dudes. From my experience they hate SEO and IM stuff.

They also won't be buying hosting or godaddy stuff, they don't care about that type of stuff.

They only thing you can get to work in this niche is things that make their jobs easier.

Think things like PSD to HTML services, bill management, Basecamp, etc. These are designers that are wanting to learn something on the sites they are visiting.

Now I wouldn't direct link to anything because why they hell do that when you can build a list yourself. Creating a quick eBook that will give them a guide is a much better choice. Then you have a list. What is that customer worth? Will BuySellAds CPM work for you? Those are the questions I think really matter.

Granted you have to be in that niche, otherwise this isn't a good network for you.

spent reasonable bucks there too, months back, no success, created lander and did direct linking, no success, i used guancast and alexa to verify the site stats, but truly i have to say the result i got from alexa and guancast are not the same with the data buysellads provided.
