Campaign on SiteScout with Mothers Day.

I did my first campaign via SiteScout on a Mothers Day Flower Special.

In the first 2 weeks of May, from May 1st to May 12th, I spent $174, with 95 Clicks and one sale. At this time I was using the free trial of WhatRunsWhere, to see where the competitor market of other Mother Day Flower Offers where posting their banner ads. So i pretty much used the same sites they used and my own sites that i did find applicable in this Sale Offer.

During those 2 weeks, I did have to turn off some sites since they were doing absolutely nothing, even if I increased the cpm bid.

(Could not figure out how to make image easier to read)
But within there it says: Imp bid 555,332; Imp won 233,506; Win CPM $0.75; Spend $174.62; Clicks 95; CTR 0.04%; eCPC $1.84

Through all that I only achieved 1 sale, which gave me back $11..

That's what it ended up with.
Now I am starting a new weight loss campaign, and I am doing better than i did with the Mothers Day. (No sale yet though)

I know my CTR for the Mothers Day portion is not good, and the eCPC is not up to standards as well. I was using their Banner Ad's and direct linking to their Landing Page as well, was that the issue? Using their Banners, and Landing Pages?

With my new campaign on Weight Loss, I created my own Banners, but do I have to create my own Landing Page as well? Will it work better if I create my own Landing Page based on what I am targeting through my Banner Ads?

If I did not explain this to well, please let me know, and I will try to rephrase it

Thanks

If you build a lp it most def can be more effective bc you can presell the customer and also try to capture information like an email address to recontact this person. I am in the weight loss market as well and am doing quite well. I tried direct linking before building my page and had a few sales but now with my own LP and going over:

    1: what the product is
    2. what the product does
    3. how much the product cost

That's all I really do and conversions are at an all time high for me

If you really want to compete you'll have to learn to make your own banners and landing pages. It makes a huge difference and allows you to attack different angles.

Yes, this is a must in a niche like weight-loss. You need to create your own landing pages and creatives.

I've always found that landing pages have worked better than direct linking for me for weight loss offers.

Also just out of curiosity, how many banners are you testing with?

      ChrisBa:
I tried a total of 6 different banners.

      728x90 (4) and 300x250 (2)

I'd be happy to share info. Just let me know what you are looking for.

Considering that getting CTRs of 1%+ on display is totally possible with banners, you would have received 25x as many clicks you would have received with some more extensive banner testing.

Thanks for the input, I can only hope to one day get 1%+.
Could you please expand on what you mean by banner testing. I think I'm doing some maybe not enough.

      What I've done is:
      1) try a variety of banner designs, this seemed to be where I saw improvement.
      2) remove banners from sites not getting clicks at all. I think the difficulty is in finding the sites that will deliver clicks, this process is hit an miss at this point.

Any advice on how to find and improvement on 1 and 2 perhaps with less money invested than I currently am investing.

Im in the weight loss MARKET not niche as well ... keep in mind that weight loss is very broad and can mean many different things. Woman and men will want different products, different methods ect ... are you selling a diet pill or a work out routine.

My banners that bring in the most income for me is a banner that has the price listed.
For example (if this was a banner)

    Tired of Not Losing Weight?
    Try Healthe Trim Raspberry Ketone
    Image of something
    Order now $$$

In my exp the clicks are low ... but the conversions are high bc they already have an idea of the price and if they clicked the ad they must be ok spending that amount ... so you lead them to your landing page that explains the product & why it works. Eventually they fell comfortable with the purchasing the item.

Other banners that are more broad like just some skinny chick that says lose weight the viewer really does not know what to expect when they click on that ad so when they do the bounce rate tends to be higher bc it wasn't "LASER" targeted.

I hope this makes sense ... feel free to pm with any questions

Yes should make your LP related to your banners. First test your banners. What headlines are working. What colors are working. Then optimize them.
Don't try to sell your product through banners. Sell "click" through banners. your landing page has to do all the selling.
    If any doubts PM me!
