One Cent Clicks On FaceBook

Hi all,

Happy Independence Day.

I was wondering if it is typical to get penny clicks on Facebook for a fan page? These are targeted clicks in America. I won't give away what I am doing but I will give you a hint. I am targeting people who think buying one CoorsLight at $7.25 is a bargain.

If you're tightly targeting groups with specific interest, and reaching out to them properly with your creatives, penny clicks are definitely doable, especially when using the CPM model.

For a few campaigns we ran in the past on FB ads, we managed to consistently get a CTR around 0.5%, while the best performing creatives reached a CTR of over 1%.

Laster targeted groups + relevant creatives is the key, and it works extremely well.

I have been running this ad since midnight. (18 hours) I was running 2 different ads. Both for $1.00 per day. The CPM sucks. Paying $0.17 per like. The PPC is awesome. Getting likes for $0.01 I will shut of the CPM model at midnight and continue to use the PPC.

Facebook is weird. The advertising is completely different than Google. With Google, you say you will pay $0.30 per click. With Facebook, you are better to tell the computer to keep automatically changing prices all day. It' like Facebook randomly puts your ad in the first spot or somewhere else. I don't get it. But whatever it's doing, it's working.

Facebook actually favors CPC over CPM, since CPC is more profitable for them. They have an incentive to favor CPC.

If you run the ad with CPC model, your ad will have priority over CPM ads, and will be put in a better ad position. Thus, with the CPC model you'll get a better ctr.

If you run the identical ad with CPC and CPM, you will notice that the CPC version will always perform better, and will have a better CTR. This is because a higher CTR means more clicks, which translate into more money for Facebook.

On the other hand CPC is usually much more expensive, while with CPM you can get much cheaper traffic.

For me CPC is way cheaper and has a way better CTR than CPM. Go figure.

I haven't seen fb clicks this cheap in a long time. A while ago I was able to get this with extremely broad targeting and a high campaign budget

Actually, I'm getting these for under a penny. I have had 115 likes and spent $0.89

Unless you are turning "likes" into leads, sales and business, it really doesn't matter how cheap you get them or how many.
