I might consider opening my own affiliate program for my software - but I am not sure yet.

I think there are affiliates out there who can generate much more traffic for my software as I currently do.

I have tried to figure out if opening and promoting PPI affiliate programs is allowed on WF.

Do you think there are people interested in this?

The product itself is 100% free. It can be downloaded both from download.com and from my own website.

Thanks for the advice and I fully understand what you are saying. Although something inside me has the urge to find new ways to make some money - and it seems more people have that feeling, looking at the huge amount of WF members

I'm with diizzle on this. While Clickbank and article marketing can make you money, why not expand on what is making you money now and squeeze as much out of it as you can.

Surely, if you got to $700 a day rather quickly, you can just as easily get to $1400 a day, and $2K a day.

You've found something that works. Stick to it. My friend is a software developer who worked for a major software development company. He wanted to start working for himself like me so I helped him out and we tried different things. He first created and sold software that was in demand by consumers and and also created and sold software to businesses. This was somewhat successful, but it was work intensive because you had to do a lot of 'selling' and he wasn't any good at that. Then we found PPI and at first he was quite skeptical. But now (just after a year of doing PPI) he's making about $400 per day stably and he quit his job just two weeks ago. It really is a scale-able business because you can just keep creating useful free software that is in demand and building up your revenue. Plus it's not too work intensive. You can take vacations whenever you want and work the hours you want.

How much programming goes into doing something like this? I have tons of ideas for programs that would be pretty big, but lack the programming knowledge at the moment. I'm currently a 2nd year uni student for computer science, so I just keep telling myself I'll get taught eventually.
Should I just spend about a week learning what it is exactly that I need?
Or should I just Odesk someone to do it for me?

I'm an ideas-guy, I pop em' out by the day/week. So they are by no means in limited supply

Yep, once I decide to create a affiliate system around my products, I will open it to everyone around the world. My advisers should be for every single install around the world too. But of course, for some countries only .01 and for some upto $3.

It is possible to get some good amount of downloads from very simple software products - think Download Managers or AV programs running on free-to-use DBs.

Nice. I used to make $70-$150 per day using PPI and music. For some reason I stopped doing it, I don't know why. As others have said, stick to what has made money for you and scale up. That cow might dry up anytime, so take as much as you can.

Yep, I guess you are right. I have worked hard lately to automatize most of it, testing should be done in a few days and hopefully all will work out. Will let you guys know, for anyone that is interested

Simple question.. Whether you want to make money or you want to learn new things...

Learning new things does not guarantee you any money... Something working stick to it and rinse and repeat it ..

eg.. if you want to make 2000$ per day.. then currently u are making 700$ per day.. .triple ur effort in what you are currently doing .. in that way, u will reach ur target..

Your math is (more) than a little odd.

1) An installed base of 3,500 downloads DOES NOT produce $700 per day at current PPI rates. In fact, an installed base of 3,500 downloads DOES NOT produce $700, total, never mind per day.

2) EVERY developer I know is perfectly capable of creating a PAD file (it is trivial) and does not need to pay someone in Fiverr to make the pad.

3) Every developer I know that is in this market uses submit-everywhere.com (not an affiliate link). $70 bucks pays for a PAD submission to 960 sites and you will have a much greater chance of your submission being accepted (i.e., why Fiverr?).

4) "I have partned up with large pay-per-install companies around the world" and "We have OUR OWN PPI products and partners." Really? I'm saying because these two statements are not compatible. When you partner up with a PPI company THEY will provide the PPI offers; all you can do is select which offers your clients will see. As for the "We have OUR OWN PPI products and partners" part, let's say I am quite skeptical.

I dont know R1987x and dont know if he is BSing you or not.
However, the thing you wrote are not accurate.

We have a PPI network (I dont want to mention the name so you wont think I am here to advertise, but if you will "insist" I will reveal)

1. A successful install in US worth around $1.5 (up to 2.5), in Europe around $0.5 and in the east $0.05. So an average of $0.2 ($700 for 3500) sounds reasonable.

4. Our system allows our publisher to monetize there own software and own offers (and I know at least a dozen of PPI networks that do the same). so there is no conflict here...

Right now you are making a good income, you don't need anything else if you keep your focus on these kind of softwares and earn even more money, you can build a huge network of yourself but if you have any doubt for future you can jump into CB marketing.

I also do some PPI with my own software products...

If you are wanting to get into Clickbank marketing as well here is what you should do...

Continue to create and distribute the PPI software. However, start building a mailing list at the same time in the niche that you want to market Clickbank products in. This can be done easily using software. You can make them "register" to get the software key (which is what I do). This means they join your list and you email them the key. You could also just have a link within the software that leads to a squeeze page and have them optin to get a free gift related to the software.

I would just continue scaling up while building your list. Then you can promote anything you want to these mailing lists, not just Clickbank.
