Success With CPA Offers in The Diet Supplement Niche?

I have started using PPC to promote some diet supplement trial offers
(****, Green Tea, etc). I have a review site and I am also trying direct linking to the sales pages. I can't seem to get any decent traffic from Yahoo or Adwords for less than 0.50 per click. Are the conversions high enough to justify this ad spend?
Or, am I just bidding on too competitive keywords?

What other niches are you having success at with CPA offers?

0,50 cent is common for competitive keywords and can be worth it.
What I do is to send them to a landing page that has
    a) a question related to the product redirecting to the trial offer
    b) mail subscription form

CTR should be high and you have the chance to build your list.

Finding longtail keywords or highly targeted placements = work you have to do to get a better ROI.
I'm also working on a strategy to find more profitable longtail keywords with decent traffic, so we're in the same boat..

.50 is plenty but what do you mean by decent traffic?

Do you mean you're not getting enough traffic? If that's the case, then you need to bid on more keywords and turn on content placement.

If by decent you mean the traffic isn't converting or clicking through to the offer, then the problem is your landing page.

I am not getting enough traffic from PPC. I am only bidding 0.30 CPC now.
I can get more clicks by increasing bids to 0.50 but I want to know if these offers are converting well enough to increase my CPC.
At 0.50 per click and $30.00 per conversion it would have to convert at 1 in 60 or 1.66% to break even.

Yes of course they are converting well enough but that doesn't mean they're gonna convert well enough for you. That's why you have to optimize your landing page so people not only click through to the offer but do so with the right mindset. Then you have to test lots of offers.

      bwall,
Depending on your landing page conversion and the ad copy that you are using, it is definitely possible to convert in 1 in 60 clicks or less. The top affiliates are also running volume that can get maybe $34-38 for the same lead that you are quoting at $30.

Thanks for the replies. I am going to increase my bids, work on my landing pages and try to find more good keywords. Anything else?

Start with Yahoo only if you want the path of least resistance.
