Promoting a Travel Website with PPV Traffic? Stupid Idea or not

So that's my question. I am affiliated with Hotwire.com affiliate program. It cannot promote this website with Bing because they disabled my account for no reason last week. Hotwire TOS states that you cannot bid on branded competition terms or urls. So I was thinking should I bid keywords that people are searching for travel deals instead of urls. When they type in a keyword such as last minute flight deals my website pops up. Also should I try to build a list with this?

    I don't see why not...

You could target URLs of other Hotel/Travel websites and use a landing page like "Booking A Hotel at ____.com? You can get it 30% cheaper here" and link it to your hotwire referral link. Or your idea where people are looking for travel deals. Maybe livingsocial or groupon type sites?

That actually sounds like an awesome idea...

I actually use Hotwire whenever I'm booking anything. But 90% of anything I book is to Vegas... :p
