Promoting adult offers - How much should I invest?

Wow,
So I have chosen an offer I'd like to promote. My plan is to create a high quality landing page. Then I want to buy traffic to that site but I noticed that ExoClick requires a minimum deposit of $200. Isn't that too much? I'd only invest that amount if I'm 100% sure that my idea works out but this is my very first non incent CPA offer. I'm just afraid that the conversion rate is not high and I loose all the $200.
What do you think?

Why don't you try trafficjunkie for adult offers

I can but I'm just wondering how much I should invest first. People recommended me ExoClick for beginners but should beginners really directly invest 200 euros?

No. That commitment level is too high with no real plan.

          Hi PerformanceMan,
I expected that. Good that someone can confirm my thought. Looks like I'll have to look for another adult traffic source then. I'll probably use the list that Luke created on the Peerfly forum.

Don't worry, I already knew that problem and found a solution. Besides the banner won't be something like "Read this dating review" or "Meet nice women"

It may be worth reconsidering your plan.

$200 isn't even much of a testing budget for exo imho.

I also doubt that the one handed surfers are going to be in the right frame of mind to read a dating site review.

Exoclick is not bad only if you can swing the $200, if you can't just start with traffic junky. Your experience counts too though.

Pof don't accept adult offers. Btw, i have tried trafficjunky, but if i get 180 clicks from my banner, i only 40+ clicks to my offer. That really sucks...No matter what kind of landing page i use...but i get the same results. Sometimes i even try my competitors lp's also, but got the same results.

So far, i got no profit from using trafficjunky, and spent over $200 for trafficjunky...

Stuck here now..have to try other networks.

Making money with adult is not just putting up some ads and some landing page and hoping for profit. You really got understand a lot of things. Besides I can't think that you must have really bad roi with traffic junky? I think you should have atleast recouped $100..

I didn't even reach my breakeven with Trafficjunky, if i spent around $100 i used to get around $60. So $40 loss. My CR is around 5% only. I know this is also a problem, but you know, the clicks i am getting to my offer page are really low.

If i get around 180+ clicks from trafficjunky, i am only getting 40 clicks to the offer. So, with 40 clicks how can i expect good leads.

My bid is around 0.60 in Trafficjunky for US audience. And my CTR is around 0.61.

        But still bad results.

If your CTR is so good, then the problem is with the placement, or landing page, or the angle. Calculate all and see what you need to change. With your above statement I think you need to work on landing page. You have just downloaded lp and put them up havent u?

I use to like cpc too, but ever since I started with cpm with traffic junky, I am actually loving it more. There is more money to be made and with quality traffic. If you still want to go cpc you can try adxpansion, altough I did not have a good experience with them.

I'll start with AdXpension first then and check how its performance is. I may try CPM as well but you'd need a very good looking banner right?

Not really, I create ugly as hell banners and still pull profit. It highly depends on the angle and cr rate etc.

btw I lost over $200 experimenting with adxpansion with 0 conversion. if you are starting off, just dont! I made the same mistake and TUAN had warned me. Now I am warning you.

Adxpansion is good for scaling, when you know the data and know how much expense would get you profit.

Alright, thanks for the tip. I guess I'll start straight with CPM I guess.

$200 isn't too much for testing considering TJ and Exoclick serve ads on most of the major tube sites; which receives most of the adult traffic that's out there.

If the conversion rate is shit, it's probably because everyone keeps jacking each other's banners and landing pages, and also using the same offer.

I also thought so and I'll use a fiver gig to design a unique HQ banner for me. I hope that everything will work out.

Where doy ou guys think is the best place to place an ad on a porn site? I thought about next to the video player and when they're done with fapping they could show interest in the ad. Or at the page where they can select their video. I'm quite unsure...

I think 200$ is really not enough. For exoclick I'd recommend about 1k$. If you'll make the first campaign profitable - lucky you are. Overwise it will dry out your wallet pretty fast. Adult is expensive at testing. Trafficjunky has a good quality traffic, but pretty high bids and competition if you want to get the piece of traffic pie For some geo targets the bids are 1$+ CPM - that means you'll have to be ready to lose money on testing and optimizing. Competitors are serious players who have 20k$ daily budgets. They can spend 10k$ to get 10,3k$ revenue, and you?

You can't take 100$, make 200$, then take 200$ and make 400$ in two days. It doesn't work that way if you are newbie. You should learn a lot and spend some money before profits will become constant.

    Hard work pays off!

That makes totally sense. I actually have much money to invest since I'm making $1000-$2000 monthly from incent CPA (I'm 18). The thing is that I'm not sure what my parents would think about spending hundreds of dollars at once. I don't want them to be worried about me in case I fail (loose the money).

The truth is that it's blackhat and I don't want to make money anymore with this kind of method. I used to make $6000 monthly with it actually but since I stopped working on it the monthly revenue decreased. I'd like to get now into the real world of internet marketing with legit ways to make money.

You shouldn't be doing adult if you are afraid to invest 200$ for a simple exoclick deposit. I would say that on average one needs to invest at least 5k$ to get anywhere with adult traffic.

Okay, thanks for the reply. You say that I shouldn't be afraid of investing too much into a campaign but could you explain me then why I should invest $5000? Where would be the difference if I invest $50 and $5000.

In order to be able to test a campaign correctly on a site like TJ or Exo, you need to spend anywhere from 500$ to 1k$ a day (assuming you are testing 20-30 creatives a couple of landing pages and a couple of offers). You can probabaly start optimizing after the first day however your testing period will never end and you will have to test new elements all the time or launch a second campaign. You will also need to have some money to scale as soon as you hit a winning campaign.

On top of all this you will probabaly run through 1k$ pretty quickly as a newbie trying to learn how to run things. I didn't even mention all the costs for hosting and tracking that are obviousley a must ( VPS or dedicated server and cpvlab or imobitrax).
