How We Do It Versus How We Should Do It
How do you start a campaign?
When you're new, you probably direct link to any old offer using any traffic source and don't make any plans at all. Then you fire it up thinking once it's setup, you're done. That's NOT the case.
What if you actually planned it all out FIRST, then just executed your plan. Imagine a developer building a 40 storey high rise apartment building without a blueprint. Imagine a car manufacturer building a car without any plans in place FIRST. Imagine a dentist just waking up every morning and asking people if he can their teeth for cavities. Imagine any business in the world and ask yourself if MAYBE they did some planning & research FIRST.
So why don't most affiliates do this?
I think the answer is the don't treat this as a business. They treat is a get rich quick scheme where they can read about something, quickly set something up then instantly be millionaires. Please show me ANY business that works that way besides newbies in affiliate marketing? It doesn't exist. So don't do it. Don't fall in that trap.
Make a plan, research it, then execute it. If you do this you won't be asking "which is better direct linking or landing pages", you'll know the answer. The answer is send them to your site and get them for life as a prospect/customer. Yes those people filling in your cpa offers are YOUR CUSTOMER. Don't treat them like crap and don't abandon them once you've made your SINGLE commission. Treat them like a long term customer.
