Why use landers for PPv?

I've studied at least 3 course and I have a paid membership at a popular forum. No one explains why you need the lander nor what you do after you collect the emails, if that's what you're supposed to do.

Am I setting it up similar to a traditional lander where I am giving a free report away?

If I am collecting emails, what do I do after I collect the emails? Set up a sequence? Etc.....

If you're giving away a free report then typically you'd use that as an incentive for someone to sign up to your list, so they would receive the report or a link to the report after they have opted into your list.

Yep - you setup an email sequence so that it emails your list automatically

The purpose of a PPV Landing Page, is to get the user's attention, and pitch the offer.

If you are a building an e-mail list with the LP, I've had the most luck by pitching a free give away right on the other side after they enter their e-mail.
