Dating- facebook conversion lower than pof?

I'm running an offer on pof which converts at 11-12% over 1000s of clicks. I took my best image over to FB and while profitable so far the cr is down to 5%. Is it difficult to get good conversion rates on FB? What are some tips? My demo is about 100,000 based on age and some interests, single straight men.

    Pof is designed strictly for dating, facebook is a social media site. They are similar but still very different, it doesn't surprise me that the conversion rates are different between the two

    Targeting and initial intent is definitely different.
    Your main interest now should be testing different targeting, and getting your costs down!

    Conversions rates tend to differ between the two... like Chris pointed out POF is dedicated to dating, while Facebook is for being social.

    Also targeting is never exactly the same, so it is hard to compare them.

    And honestly a 5% drop after importing isn't that bad, you'll need to do some optimization and testing to get Facebook to POF conversions rate. Good Luck.

      What kind of optimization can I do? The ad is still performing well as far as CTR and the LP CTR is good, too. I am trying different kinds of interest targeting, but not really sure where to go. BTW, the CR is probably more like 2-3% now with more data.

    Try to use bunch of creatives in FB, you may find an ad copies that would work better then the one that is best in POF.

      The thing is the ad copy is getting me a good 0.1% and cheap clicks so I like it. I made some adjustments to the landing page for testing though.

    On Facebook are you promoting your offer via a Page or Facebook ads? Also is it possible to get a guest post on a well established dating related page or possibly have them link to your Facebook page or site offer?
