Why Create Your Own Landing Page for Media Buys?

So far, every single offer I've looked at on MaxBounty and PeerFly have great landing pages for the offer. So, my question is why would I try and create a landing page to send my traffic to instead of sending it directly to the landing page of the product I'm promoting?

I understand the one reason is to capture email addresses for my list and to re market to them later. However, I feel like any landing page created by an average Joe like me won't have as much of a professional feel to it like these products landing pages already do.

Another thing I'm wondering is if I do create my own landing page, does that mean anyone who submits their info to my landing page than gets directed to the products landing page as well, before the offer?

I hope this question isn't too confusing.

If someone could clear this up for me it'd be appreciated!

Thanks

Landing pages with professional feel are not always the best!

Using your own landing pages you can pre-sell the offer to your target audience by pinpointing additional benefits that are not mentioned on the offer's page. Think if you are using custom angles for generic offers, you might want to be more specific towards your audience? It usually increases conversion rate.

Landing pages allow you to pitch the offer to a certain demographic or collect leads.

Why have a sales man to tell someone about a car, when they just test drive it themselves?

Same concept, a landing page helps the visitor get excited about the product.

They are very helpful, and a must use!

Making your own landing page gives you the ability to angle the offer to specifically target the demographic of your traffic. Obviously learning some of the basic design skills that are required to ensure it still looks professional can take a bit of time, but once you do so it's quite beneficial. You can then make multiple landing pages and split test to see which ones seem to have the most success, building subsequent pages based on the most successful one.

    Hope that helps!

    Angles my friend.

If you're doing say an iphone email submit offer. You could easily send that person directly to the landing page from the merchant. BUT what if you're doing this?

"Miami Heat Fan? Want An Iphone?"
"For a limited time only we are giving away 28 iphones. Click here for details!"

Then the go to your landing page which says,

    "Cool, we love heat fans!"

"Lebron and Wade are going to win a 3rd championship guaranteed!"

"Click here for our Heat Facebook Fanpage"

"Click here to join our Heat Fan Newsletter!"

"Click here to get your phone now!"

See what you can do when you start controlling the traffic a bit? The options are unlimited. Use the paid traffic for MORE THEN ONE purpose and connect with that person even more so they'll do your offer.

Not to mention CPA networks will love you because you will be helping their EPCs across the board by using landers.

The merchants page of the offer can be good. However it isn't optimized for your ads, your traffic source, your targeting, etc.

When I'm thinking of a landing page i have 1 of 2 things in mind (or even both). The first is to collect email addresses and/or other information from the person, the second is to presell them.

Normally we are very limited to how much we can put in our ads due to the size of them, because of this we can utilize our own landing page to expand the ad further and kept get them to sign up
