What are default impressions ? CPM

Hello guys, this maybe is a silly question but i am curious as to what CPM networks regard as default impressions.

I use Evolve Media for CPM monetizing of my website.

Just started about 3 days now.

IMPRESSION STATS

defaults 25852
728x90 (728x90) 1324
300x250 (300x250) 1356
I have earned $2.41 from 2680 impressions

I am here wondering whats up with the 23k+ impressions.

Are these (defaults) natural?

    Hi,
I have experience working with Evolve Media directly. Basically default impressions are the impressions that they chose not to monetize. If you don't have a default tag set up with them, they are lost. A default tag would be another company that Evolve will give the impression to if they do not monetize it. So basically the impression flow would look like this:

Your website -> Evolve (They either buy or do not buy) If they don't buy -> passback ad network

This fill rate (the % of impressions bought v. impressions that were sent) is around 10-11% which is relatively low. Also, something to note about Evolve when I worked with them, is that the results they show you on a daily basis are UNAUDITED and they are only concrete after the audit is complete after the end of the month. Normal audit changes is 20%, meaning that if you added up the revenue they made for you on a daily basis equaled $100, after the monthly audit is complete you could expect them to pay you $80.

    Hope this helps.

Yeah it means that all of the defaults - you should be passing back to another network which is a 100% Fill (meaning they take/buy all inventory). You are losing money if you aren't filling defaults on a partial fill network.
