Lead Impact PPV URL targeting

I'm trying to figure out how Lead Impact PPV network URL matching works and trying to get the most targeted traffic as possible.

I created a campaign for one of the popular MMO games, World of Tanks and I came up with the following list of URLs to target.

Attachment 19474

I covered the domains for obvious reasons but you can see how deep the pages are and how much traffic I should be able to get. Some of these website I'm targeting are very popular (such as gamespot.com, ign.com). I can imagine how much traffic they get every day.

But I'm not getting any traffic at all. I downloaded one of LI's software and visited several of the URLs I'm going after but my ad is not showing up but instead other ads popup occasionally. My bids are #1 for every URL and I have almost $1k balance.

Can you tell me why this is happening? Am I doing this wrong?

Thanks!

This is very weird. Best bet would be calling them over the phone.

BTW for how many days the campaign has been active?

Thanks for the reply Naveen. Its been 2 days since the campaign keywords got approved. And another weird thing is that I set the campaign to run in 5 countries and no capping.

BTW do you have any information on URL targeting in your WSO. I've got all the basics covered but I would like to learn the technical part of URL targeting. For example what is the difference between: example.com, .example.com, example.com/, etc... which one has highest priority in lead impact system.

Actually in past two months since their change, there have been few wired cases where there is sudden traffic hike and few dry times and etc but inspite of being top bidder for high traffic domains and not receiving any clicks means something is wrong with your account. You should definitely call them and ask.

There is nothing like priorities which you are assuming. If your keyword which you use in your campaign matches with the url which user enters then only your lp will pop up. The traffic which you get from bidding example.com will be much higher than the other variations you mentioned. All these variation would help in scaling up your target and if someone is running on tight budget then they could use these type of variations to avoid the completion. Yes, in my guide I have discussed all these things.

Strange, but also keep in mind that just because its a high traffic target doesn't mean that you're guaranteed to get traffic from it. "High Traffic" might be a lot for one niche but relatively small for other sites on the internet. There's also always the possibility that demographic you're reaching or targeting with that website, is not the demo that has LeadImpact's toolbars installed.

          Good point sonixkid3000!

Looks like LI doesn't have as much gamers as I expected. They also just sent me an email stating that they don't have much traffic for such kind of targeted urls in their network and recommended I shorten the urls. Now at least I know I'm not doing anything wrong.

Exactly, you have to go with the demographics that install the stuff LI shows their ads to.

It might not be gamers as much as something else.

If you are targeting a folder in a url or a specific page the traffic can be usually low unless the domain gets huge volume such as facebook.

        When you bid like 0.015

        on

        gameworld.net/world-of-tanks (just example)

and somone let name him Peter is bidding 0.016

        on

        gameworld.net

and the surfer goes to gameworld.net/world-of-tanks , Peter his popup will be shown and not yours.
