Teespring Campaign Question

Do those guys making hundred of shirt sales know or do something most others don't?

if i take for example one hoodie campaign i'm still testing, the design is very closely similar(my colours being more accurate with the team), our teespring descriptions are pretty much the same, my CTR's are around 3% with cpc's below 0.25$, and my ad has the price included plus a good cta...Yet he's been selling like 500 shirts and i have yet to sell more than 1!

Plus i'm getting likes for the newsfeed ad about the hoodie...just no big sales.

How are you getting your traffic? Also it sounds like you're comparing yourself to someone else? How are they getting their traffic?

How much have you spent so far and how high is your goal? A lot of times, getting to your goal is the hardest part. People don't want to buy unless they know the shirt will be printed.

Also the social proof aspect is big also, if people see that a lot of other people have purchased that makes a big difference.

And if you are targeting the same people as your competitor, many people have probably already seen his shirt, so they are less likely to check out yours, if yours is very similar.

I've spent close to 20$ on that campaign. My goal is 20. But i've seen most people with goals of 20-50...so i thought that it was a good start. But i do understand your point about that.

And sure, the social aspect is great, but it doesn't equal into sales :S

Finally, yeah it would make sense if my design was almost identical...therefore hadn't anything much new, but i'm using better colours, a difference in design also. And people are actually clicking my ad to check it out!

SerpSlayer and PPC-Coach both shared some great advice.

I would also ad doing all you can to lower that CPC, keep testing more ads. .25 cents clicks are bit high for a physical good imo.

I've found that you can't just copy a design and expect it to do what they're doing.

They beat you to the market.

That's like selling pizza to a guy who just came out of a pizza parlor!

    BE UNIQUE.

Be first to market with a unique design to a unique market.

(OR battle for the scraps, either way you'll make money just being unique makes a bit more typically).

You don't need to do EXACTLY what others are doing - that will end in tears in most cases. Best option is to differentiate. Breakdown what they are targeting and go deeper or move sideways (change sport, team, slogan, country etc.)

Some of those people that are selling hundreds of t-shirts or even thousands.. are tapping into fan related fan pages - eg.. Sports pages they bought or have built from the ground up with 100k's of likes - they push the shirts to them. Without that, you can still succeed by coming up with something different.
