Teespring + Facebook (Complete Noob!) Results

I know there are a few threads on the subject as I've read them all, daily! lol

I only started my own because:

A) I can chronicle what I'm doing and hopefully get help (and offer it?) when possible

B) I didn't want to hijack someone else's thread

C) To give a complete FB advertising and Teespring newbie perspective

I will admit straight away, I'm not a "facebooker". I don't really care for Facebook. I never "post what I'm doing", I don't post pics of my kid, I don't communicate with family....I simply am not a "facebooker". However, I liked the idea of Teespring and the possibility to make a lot of money (so I've read! lol) so thought I'd give Facebook/Teespring a try.

It took me ALL DAY to set up my first campaign, basically sending paid traffic (news feed ads) to my ONE offer. No, I don't have a dozen designs yet, just one that I created in Illustrator and yes, it's in the sports niche.

I have NO IDEA if I'm doing things right. But, here's what I've done so far:

1) I have one design, an original that I created but based off a design I saw was popular, or sold a lot, so created my own version. Of course, the design I saw that did well was posted in a very popular fan page so they sold a ton because they already had a busy fan page with passionate members(?).

2) I found that news feed ads seem to be the way to go so I created my very first fan page on the subject PURELY so I could create my news feed ad.

3) I created 2 ad "images", one with an orange bg, one with a white bg. Seems FB thought the white bg ad had better CTR (both had between 2-3%) so I paused the orange bg ad.

4) I set my ad campaign for this ONE shirt design, with a reach of about 260,000 (originally it was about 10,500) with a CPC of roughly $0.32 and NO conversions after several hours and roughly 20+ clicks.

5) So, I figured after spending around $20+ I'd pause both ads. I didn't want to spend more than $20 if I've got no conversions. Figured I'd just pause them both and work on a new design the next day.

6) For some reason, even though my campaign (ie both ads) were paused, I thought I'd check my ad cost to see if there weren't any additional clicks that simply hadn't come through yet (delayed reporting etc.) and to my astonishment, I had 3 conversions!

I set my Teespring hoodie campaign to a goal of selling 20, I've got 3 conversions from tonight't advertising which seem to come from no where because when I paused my ads, I had ZERO conversions.

So, here are my latest stats (as it seems both FB ads and Teespring don't update to-the-minute):

** I've got only 6 new likes to my fan page
** I've got 3 conversions for my campaign
** I've spent at least $31 but I assume it'll be higher when the ad manager catches up. I set it to $100/day.
** I don't think my stats are that great but, if I could get 3 conversions at $30/day then I'd be at roughly 100% ROI I suppose. Will see how it goes tomorrow.

I was surprised that almost an hour after shutting off my ads with 0 conversions to find I had 3 conversions.

Would you keep the ads going if you had 3 conversions for a hoodie (roughly $19/profit per hoodie if you make your goal) and spent $30+? I don't know if any of those conversions came from people sharing their likes, the ad itself, etc.

Will update this thread cause I know the other threads helped inspire me to get going, especially someone like me who literally has ZERO knowledge of FB etc.

Good start! Even I launched a FB campaign few days back and abandoned after sales stopped! But got some learning on how to launch a better campaign. Now gearing up for second campaign.

There can be few reasons for delayed stats.
The data takes some time to reflect.
Teespring runs a nice remarketing campaign for users visited.

Vasuu - did you get any sales at all? How many days did you run your ads?

I stopped my ads after spending about $50. My buddy says I should keep the ads running to get data, which I agree, but I'm still not convinced I have a winning campaign (ad, tshirt, etc.)

I'm trying to get a little familiar with FB's advertising platform in general so just focusing on this one T for the moment, which I know I should be testing 10+ designs.

Will do some more advertising today, add some new banners, etc. If I get another 3 sales or so from $50 then I'll keep going until I hit at least 10 (goal is 20 but I'll ask teespring to drop in order to get paid) then move on.

It's only been about 5 hours of advertising, maybe less. Will see how it goes.

Good luck on Campaign #2, let me know how it goes
