This is totally bizarre and you should be aware
The other day I contacted my affiliate manager for a product I am promoting. Its not a CPA network, it is the product owner directly. We chatted a little bit about my question (which has to do nothing with this story) and suddenly a few days later I received an email from them telling me that I was infringing their keyword policy with one of my ads... and he sent me the ad via email.
Here comes the bizarre part:
-The ad was for another product, from another company, nothing to do with them.
-It was an AdWords ad.
-There is NO WAY in the world they could know that ad was being run by me.
-The ad was direct linking to the other company site, so not even my servers were involved.
When they sent me the details of the infringement I found out they were using the services of a company called brandverity.com
As it turn out, it was a mistake, and I was not infringing their policy and we are all good now...but I am still very very concerned about how this company could link an anonymous ad to myself. If they did it for "compliance" issues, what would prevent anyone to do it for profit?
Do they have partnerships with Google, Bing? If thats the case, how safe is this business model if anyone can see in advance what you are doing?
If anyone has any explanation on how companies can link anonymous ads to specific persons and if thats 'the way it is' I would deeply appreciated.
