Bing Ads bidding question

Sorry for being a lurker guys. Please bear with me. Would love your input. I finally saved up 2500$, for a ppc campaign. I decided to use bing ads after reading that bing is much more affiliate friendly and cheaper than google adwords. My offer is a pay per call offer from commission junction, that has a huge payout. Anyway i noticed when creating an ad campaign theres 5 default keyword bidding. 1.firstline 2.mainline bidding,3.best position bidding,4. custom bid and 5.ad group bid. The best position bidding cost per click is similar to that of adwords 45$ per a click! In your experience to get the best possible traffic from bing search is it neccessary to select best position bidding. Or could i still get decent traffic with the cheaper mainline or firstline bids? Thanks guys!

A lot of times you will have big companies come in and have big budgets that they blind spend to get the number 1 spot. For some niches the 1-3 spots could be like that. Lots of times they are just running branding campaigns, and their ad spend is not related to their conversions at all.

I typically like to go for the 2-3 spot. The number 1 spot isn't always worth it for testing, but could be proven worth it for your campaign after you get some data on it.

Also I typically want to avoid competing with larger companies for top spots.

You really have to use your best judgement.

most of the times on a good campaign you have to go for some cheap but related keywords, go broad with your keywords selection but keep it related to your niche
you have to take a different approach than everyone else and get the clicks ,much more oportunity to convert of course

Thanks. I'll put in extra work. And research keywords related to my niche that will hopefully convert. Will keyword research software like market samurai work with bing?

Yes they will work, but try not to rely too much on tools, come up with your own variations too

in some niches, its funny you know I have performed better in 3rd and 4th position. No joke! I do not know why but I have paid for expensive tracking and it seems that eyes look at positions 1 and its like they say "hmm dunno I will try these others as well"

Its like the headline sticks out too, if you can get a headline that sticks out, and is related to the emotions of your prospect, then this can help too.

See how that works? Basically you are working smarter and paying less for your bids, and getting just as much business.

I am no guru at copy, but I am ok and producing winning headlines, just have to test is all. COPY is a major part of getting a winning ppc ad!!! and remember to TEST, TEST, TEST

it is funny, is like you said , "if you can get a headline that sticks out" you can get the click, for a 20% cost compared to number 1 spot with mainstream copy, emotions play a huge part on paid advertising, people most of the times just react to some wording. copy is important peace of the puzzle

        Cheers
