Pre-fetching/pre-loading affiliate links for better conversion rate?

Hey guys, so i just wanted to ask if anyone of you is doing stuff like prefetching or preloading your affiliate links in the visitors browser cache from your landing page to speed up the load time of the cpa offer page?

this idea just popped into my head, and i just wanted to know if any of you have tried it?

    Hmm that is an really good idea in concept, not sure how the technical side would play out. Could you have it load after you LP has loaded?

      Yeah, i thought about that it would impact the load speed on the landing page, however it can be done so that the prefetch will only start loading after the landing page has fully loaded.

      Firefox fully supports browser prefetching, and almost all of my traffic is somehow from firefox.

      However i imagine there is tricks to do it in other browsers aswell, like displaying the offer page in a hidden iframe, that should make the browser store the page in it's cache aswell, not sure though.

      I will need a way to test the different load times from landing - offer page with and without prefetching / iframe trick to know for sure.

      When i've done that i'll share the code + instructions here.

      However i am VERY new in the ppv game, i am still struggeling just getting my campaigns profitable and have LOTS of "out of the box" tricks up my sleeve i still need to try

    Creative thinking, that is smart!

    Keep at it you seem like you are thinking from the right midset... trying to find every advantage you can over your competitors.

    Defiantly split test all these ideas.

      then direct linking through ppv should count as cookie stuffing aswell, and i do not think that is the case tbh.

    No there's a difference.

    Direct linking is just direct linking and won't work (in general, sometimes you get lucky though).

    Preloading the offer page through your landing page works differently. Suppose somebody comes to your landing page but they don't click through, by preloading the offer page they will have essentially clicked through anyways and now have your cookie on them even though they didn't technically click to the page.

    Affiliates in the cost-per-sale industry are getting sued for stuff like that in the US.

      1. "Direct Linking Is "Just" Direct Linking and Won't Work" WHO told you that? are you some kind of ppv guru?

      2. AM said it was ok.

      3. No, prefetching is not cookie stuffng.

        I hate that term and never claim to be one. Maybe you should have been more clear and said this is was JUST for PPV.

        Really? So then how do you define pre-fetching the page? Does the visitor end up with your affiliate cookie on them at any point without them knowingly visiting the offer page?

          Guys, read these :
          • Prefetching does work across domains, including pulling cookies from those sites.
          • Prefetching can throw off website statistics as the user doesn't technically visit a given page.
          • Mozilla Firefox, currently the only browser to support prefetching, has actually supported prefetching since 2003.
          • For Chrome, use prerender instead of prefetch , IE doesn't support these meta tag.

          Example of usage :
          Image:
          <link rel="prefetch" href="http://www.domain1.com/wp-content/uploads/my_image.png">

          URL :
          <link rel="prefetch" href="http://www.domain2.com/somepage.html">
