Lead Impact Heartbreak

Hi Folks,

I just wanted to share a cautionary tale with folks new to IM and to see if those a little more knowledgeable can offer some advice.

I have yet to earn my first dollar of profit in CPA, mainly because of shiny object syndrome, which I have finally cured.

I have resolved to select one "evergreen" offer: PC backups
and to stick with one traffic source: Lead Impact.

I came up with a very specific angle, crafted a bunch of beautiful landing pages, including my first 3D animated video that was dead-on targeted to both the offer and the pages that I planned to pop them.

I created my own landing page rotator and landing page performance tracking system so I could *really* understand what was going on with each landing page...

I was (am) absolutely determined that this time I was finally going to make a profit!

Then I put it up on LeadImpact, and *bam*. Rejected.

It turns out that Lead Impact no longer accepts PC Backup offers because they got tons of complaints from their customers of misleading and unscrupulous landing pages.

So the lesson... if you plan to put a lot of effort into a brand new campaign, speak to a real humans before you commit.

Check here on the forum to see if folks are making money with the offer or if they have any warnings or ideas to share.

Check with your CPA account manager and see if they think the offer will stay open for a long time.

Check with your advertiser source to make sure they allow that kind of offer.

*THEN* go for it!

So, for you more experienced folks out there, what would you suggest?

I'm planning to talk with a human from trafficVance to see if they will allow me to do what I was planning with LeadImpact.

What other options should I be considering?

Thanks!

- Pete
