Hi,

Had anyone ever ran their campaign like this?

It was the worst day in my life. I have two campaigns targeted to one country, i competed against myself and went to bid around $69 cpm. Soon after i realised that i am competing against me, i stopped the campaign at $120 spent. But the adserver was stopped at $748, i got only 9 clicks. Most of my money was spent before my eyes in seconds.

That was really horrible...

That must be bad , but I don't know how adserver not notice your changes , did you have high daily budget? server never deliver more than your daily budget, always stop with some spare at the end of the day.

Why were you bidding so high? $69 is so mind bogglingly high....

Pausing a campaign doesn't mean the campaign will end RIGHT away, you might get leaks because it takes time to completely turn off a campaign. If you're bidding at $69 CPM and you spent $748, then it means you bought 10k impressions.

A 10k impression leak is pretty common especially on big media buys... were you advertising on large volume sites?

Yes, that was really bad day for me. I am advertising on very high traffic site which has alexa under 100.

I started the bid at $4 and as i said, i have two campaigns, i competed against myself,
    4-5,5-6,6-7,...went to $68-$69.

I noticed the spend variation in the very start and paused it, but the adserver stopped at $748.

    Lesson learned!

Once, i scraped a ton of targets for a ppv campaign.. i was very stupid and didn't check the list good enough, I ended up with some targets like google, facebook, http, etc. (not on purpose but I didn't check the scraped list well enough)

I ended up with a very large bill with no conversions, I started getting very picky on my target selection and got very careful on checking my targets after this.
