Using Dr Oz In Your Ad or Landing Page?

This is just an FYI warning for those that don't know...

If you are promoting a weight loss or health supplement with an ad or landing page featuring Doctor Oz's video or image, then you might want to pull it down or stop promoting it immediately.

Since he appeared in court the other day, his lawyers are out on the hunt for all websites that's promoting a weight loss or health product with Dr Oz's video or image on it. Even if your page says he did not endorse your product, you can still end up with a lawsuit.

Obviously if you are linking to an affiliate site that has his videos on it, then they'll obviously be the ones taking the heat. But if any of your domains or landing page URLs has anything of his on it, they'll be after you.

This is just a friendly warning to my fellow marketers. I probably should have posted this in the main IM discussion thread, but I know most of the health products are promoted by CPA affiliate marketers.

Thank you for posting this. I read about this on Facebook. I promote some Market Health products, including weight loss. I always try to be careful not to name drop Dr. Oz, Oprah, or anyone else.

Dr Oz has been running a spot on his program for months, warning viewers about mis-use of his brand, so there's plenty of folks out there aware of this, who could report websites in violation if they wanted to.
