Newbie starting a site - which ad network?
First, a little background: I'm a fairly experienced web designer, competent with building a site and using WordPress.
I've never made money online yet however, but now I am planning to change that. I want to build an information site on a topic that I am very knowledgeable about, and make revenue from online ads (which I intend to have in a sidebar on the RHS) and affiliate sales.
I'm wondering about the best networks for either of these. I hear AdSense has a very poor payout and it's difficult to make much money from it. I read this article, which gives a list of 10 ad networks for low to medium traffic sites, and it seems there are a few options.
Obviously, to start off with the site will not have much traffic. Is there any ad network the folks on here recommend? Ideally it should be easy to get approved and provide a respectable payout.
