Advertising suggestions.

I would like to include some form of advertising for driving targeted traffic to a squeeze page specific to that target niche and I am looking for some suggestions. This would be in addition to our current methods we are using for list-building and, in some instances, generating sales. But mostly our squeeze page(s) are for list building.

We operate in several niche markets, one example is hair salons and individual salon professionals.

Where would you advertise for this niche? (Facebook, bing, google, etc...)
Approximate budget and length (for a small test campaign)?

At this point it would likely be a test campaign just to get some baseline data and a general feel for how to do things --- that is, we are okay with learning as we go but would like some ideas to get started.

    I feel like you're on the right track with trying AdWords or Facebook. From our perspective Facebook has been more about creating awareness and not necessarily driving sales, so I would certainly recommend AdWords in this instance.

      Thanks for your input. I will do a bit of research on AdWords.

      RE: Facebook -- my initial thought was, well I know that the hair salon and stylists do have a presence on FB so perhaps I could pull some traffic. I do understand where you are coming from as well.
