All case study of POF campaigns.

I was recently looking into different ad networks and I came across POF again.
Was thinking of starting a thread where everyone share their case study about all and any ad networks.
But decided lets do a specific one and maybe start other threads on other networks.
That way it would be easier for viewing once the thread gets populated with more case study. So it will be relevant.
Okay here it is.
I have read a fair share of people from both sides of the debate.
Some say it is good only to promote other dating sites/portals or dating offers.
Some say you can market other stuff, depending on how you target and your landing pages.
Well, logically, and theoretically, I tend to agree with the former, because when people are on a dating platform, they are there to meet someone, they are not in the state of mind thinking of making money, or looking at ads at all for that matter.
Its like trying to push some making money ads on an adult site. (porn)
The last thing on the guys mind (if its even in his mind at that moment) is money, no, is only women!
Having said that I did made a sale back in 2011 when I promoted a clickbank IM product. But I just couldn't replicate it. That was the only sale with POF.
The 1st test which I did as seen had 115 clicks, and only 1 sale which got me about $20+ in commission.
The 2nd one I ran was more targeted base on the 1st test data that I got. And there wasn't any sales. (although I didn't use much funds for that)
As you can see, CTR dropped when I was more targeted, thus increasing the eCPC.
But still, comparing it to ppc with google adwords, this is still far more cheaper.
But the quality or conversions are not that good in my opinion.
