I launched my first campaign today on Bing but am having a lot of problems. I even spoke to support to try and fix some of the issues, but I'm still not getting anywhere.

I keep on getting "Low Rank Score" and "Low Landing Page Relevance" as the reasons why my ads aren't showing up. However, I am bidding higher than the average cpc, the landing page is completely focused on what it is I am advertising, and the ad copy accurately states what it is I am advertising too.

I'm really at a loss at what to do here and want to know whether I'm unlikely to have these problems with Adwords. Surely Google's algorithm is better at detecting these things? The main reason I'm using Bing is due to the older demographic and $100 coupon.

It's not uncommon to have these issues with Bing, they have a lot of guidelines that aren't quite in your face, and may not be as obvious when you violate them.

How much content do you actually have on your website? sometimes that can affect your ad relevance. Even things like a missing privacy policy etc.. can affect your landing page relevance score even if your page content is spot on. Did you take a look at the editorial guidelines? Sometimes they want you to have links to other pages within your site for bounce rate improvement reasons. Auto play videos aren't a good idea, nor are pop ups or slow page loading times.

I would pause your campaign, keep tweaking and then go at it again.

On the bright side with Bing is the pricing. Adwords is VERY expensive.

Bing and Adwords are very similar. They both use the Quality Score concept to position your ads and figure out how much you eventually pay per click. If your QS is low, you have less of a chance to show and if you do, your position is low, no matter how much you bid.

The fix is to test better ads, ones that get higher click rates. Most of QS calculation is your CTR at your position compared to competitors.

Other issues affecting CTR is poor keyword choices, being too generic. Also, don't use broad match. There's the modified broad match which Bing also now uses, where you put a + in front of words. Read up on that as well as phrase and exact matches, learn how they work and behave. This has done wonders to an account I manage on Bing recently.

Other things to look into are campaign settings. Don't mix search and display. Stay away from the search partners. Sometimes, you want to split off or forget advertising to mobiles.

Assuming properly targeted keywords (seems everyone says that but I find many are not) and relevant to your offer, the main thing is improving ads. It needs to "talk to" the reader and make them want to click and find out more.

      +1 for this idea.

After reading the title, I had to read through to see why Facebook PPC wasn't on the list... Then to see you have an 'older demographic' that just doubles the Facebook vote, really... FB is trending with the older generations.

We have many niches being advertised on FB for 35 year olds - 64 year olds and the click throughs, opt in rates and conversion rates are fantastic. The ability to focus your ads to the specific people you are wanting to reach is 10x better than BingAds or Adwords

Lastly... Remember that you can go to Fiverr and find gigs where people will sell you $50 or even $100 coupons for FB PPC to get you started.

Be really careful with that. Although it may work well for some products it may not be he same for other. Also a good conversion rate at your end, doesn't mean a good conversion rate for your merchants and you may end up losing the relationship with them. I don't say that you don't have to try it, but be very careful.

I'm having difficulty understanding how these relate. Especially if the landing page is just a single sentence that has very limited amount of text.

      Can you give an example?

Do your keywords relate to your landing page? You're not bidding competitor brand or something like that, that can cause a low relevance.

What if the landing page is a single sentence with an opt-in box? I am confused as to how such little "content" that is on a landing page can be related to keywords and how it relates to the actual display ad on the sidebar..

For example (completely hypothetical) to get prospective gym owners to opt in into my list:

"Free report reveals a little known method gym owners are using to double their membership"

      Ad:
      Keywords:

      ?

I think that Bing has recently become relevant traffic is very bad as the transfers are almost non-existent and you are targeting a specific country visits come from other countries, Google Adward is excellent but you should use the landing page because direct links contrary to the policy of Google.

Okay from what I am reading, this issue is likely due to competing advertisers that keep optimizing their setups and ends up dealing you a lower QS. Well, that is one possibility anyway.
