How to identify your affiliate competition

Hello Warriors,

i am a newbie Internet Marketer, so this might sound a newbie question, but i really
need your suggestions.

I am currently working in launching a blog ( in the "women weight loss" niche) and trying to do my homework by researching the competition.

Here is what i am trying to find out :

1. Affiliate Marketing competition in this area, how can i find this online? Google did not help me too much, maybe because i am not searching the right things.

2. Some online statistics, with age ranges, so i can find out my target audience.

Thank you so much for helping me and sorry for my English (i am not a native speaker)

If you want to research your competition then Google, BING and Youtube are your best bets. Just punch in your 10 most obvious keywords into their search bars that describe your product and see which sites (and subsequent products they promote) appear on the first page.

That should give you a huge list of potential competitors you will encounter in your market. Try "weight loss for women", "lose fat women, "how to get skinny", etc.

In terms of demographics I'm not sure where you could look that up, but I would estimate it being women between the ages of 20 - 55 as these are most likely to be interesting into buying your product.

But have a go with some of the above keywords and I guarantee you'll find plenty of competition

I would think just by searching google, bing, etc you should be able to identify competing sites? Maybe try using some tools like alexa, similarweb, quantcast, compete, etc

searching, and cross checking domains with ahrefs and tools like that are your best bet.

There are a couple of things you can do to 'spy' on your competition and see whats working in the affiliate marketing world.

One thing you can do is Google (search) for related keywords in your niche - then go to each one of the results - and check what they are doing. See what affiliate products they are promoting and stuff like that.

You can also go to Clickbank.com - go to the marketplace and then look for affiliate products with high Gravity Scores.

You can see what affiliate products are 'hot' right now in the marketplace.

To see a bit more statistics for a certain niche - you can use a tool like Google Trends
    google.com/trends

This should be enough information for you to learn more about your affiliate competition in your niche.

I wish you the best of the best!

    Cheers!
