Can anyone see the problem with my landing pages link from prosper202 ??

Can anyone explain the difference between there two tokens pls is this one for direct linking ect `&s2=[[subid]]` .... And this one for landing pages `?s2=[[subid]]`

Because when I try to set up my tracking with prosper using a landing page and this token `&s2=[[subid]]` it doesnt work but if I switch the `&` out and put `?` in its place it works fine.

Then the next bit of advice I need is closely related, When setting up the campaign using a landing page on the `set up/campaign` when direct linking here I add my affiliate link with [[subid]] but when using a landing page do I still add my affilate link or do I add my landing page url with [[subid]] ??

Can anyone tell me the correct way to go please

Thanks James

  • Prosper has some good videos and tutorials on setup of links. I strongly advice you to have a look there to get a better understanding of how the tracking platform works.

    With that said.....

the reason your URL works after you add the "?" is because everything after the ? is not part of a URL

    So if I linked to

warriorforum.com&s2=[[subid]] you will get an error

however when you add in the ? you are saying go to this page and the rest of the url is information that can be pulled from the string

    warriorforum.com?&s2=[[subid]]

So you will want that ? mark in there

When Prosper gives you your link they automatically include this. You should be using the link prosper gives you.

    For the second question.

Inside Prosper they provide you the link to use for your landing page. When you setup the link you tell prosper you are using a landing page. they then give you the link to use.

In adition they will give you a second link to use that is a redirect link. This goes on your re-direct page.

from the landing page you know link out to this re-direct page. When someone clicks through they pass through the re-direct from prosper which then goes onto your affiliate link.

I know it's complicated but once you go through the motions several times you will get the hang of it.

    I hope this information helped.

Thats all abit cryptic for me mate I`m not sure just tell me lol ??

Here is my full set up in prosper202 can you or anyone see a mistake

      Traffic source is Bing ads

      Categories is Maxbounty

      In the Campaign tab..

      h t t p : / / w w w.mb01.com/lnk.asp?o=1793&c=918273&a=64846&l=1357&s2=[[subid]] Affiliate Campaigns Setup | Awesome Screenshot

      Landing page set-up

Now this page is different from the ones shown on most prosper202 help videos maybe because the version is newer ?

Anyway the page on the help videos looks like this without the [[subid]] tokens
Prosper202 Tutorial: Step 4 Setting Up A Simple Landing Page - YouTube | Awesome Screenshot

But my landing page set up looks like this with all the [[subid]] ect tokens
      | Awesome Screenshot

So here I`m not sure if I need to add tokens to the landing page url or not ?

It would be extreamely helpful if someone could help me out here do I add just the plain landing page url = h t t p : / / peegresearchgroup.com/survey/

      Landing page url + &s2=[[subid]] ....
      like this = h t t p : / / w w w .mb01.com/lnk.asp?o=1793&c=918273&a=64846&l=1357&s2=[[subid]]

      Landing page url + ?s2=[[subid]] ....
      like this = h t t p : / / w w w .mb01.com/lnk.asp?o=1793&c=918273&a=64846&l=1357?s2=[[subid]]

Obviously the difference of the last two is that I have changed the token at the end from &s2=[[subid]] to ?s2=[[subid]]

I have actually seen both being used in different help videos on youtube which is a bit confusing lol

Any help guys would be awesome

Ok i`ve just used the plain url I think thats correct but does anyone know where do I actually add this piece of code

Option 1: Landing Page: Outbound Redirect Link:
Use this link if you don't want to manualy upload PHP code to your server

    http://pablo.thebest-creatine.com/Pr...o.php?lpip=568

    | Awesome Screenshot

This is a newer version of prosper202 then the one I used a few years ago and this feature wasnt there

I have check the help videos and its not on there but it is mentioned in the online help comments here.

Option 1: Landing Page: Outbound Redirect Link:

This is the easiest and fastest option. You won't have to edit any php or code. Just copy this link and set this as your link to your affiliate offer.

Annotate Your Screenshot | Awesome Screenshot

"Just copy this link and set this as your link to your affiliate offer."

Does this mean I just use this as the target link for all my links on the landing page ? so the big click here buttons ect should have this as the target link ?

    Cheers James

Can you give us more details around your landing page?
Could you even give us an example of the url you are using? is it html, or php?

  • I answered in your new thread on the same topic.

The reason you see different example in the link is because different affiliate networks use different kinds of subids.

The same is true for the traffic source and what values you are passing.

Thanks for your time and help ! The reason I made two post is that I`m in the UK and `most` of you guys are US so when I make a post with a pressing issue I wont get an answer until the next day so I hear nothing from any warriors on the day of my problem so sometimes I post in different areas just to try and catch someone up and working the same time as me lol

I think I`m sorted now actually can I just ask.. In your opinion is the plain link here correct ? | Awesome Screenshot

      Thanks

  • looks correct to me however it's been such a long time since I used Prosper.

When you generate the link on #8 Get Links is when you can tell with more confidence if everything is setup correctly.

There you will pick your traffic source and the tokens you setup for that traffic source should be appended to the end of the URL

From there you can test out the link and ensure everything is working correctly.
